Thread: How to deal with eyeshoters in PvP ?

Just a hint from a 3/4/4/3 BH

The BH profession has 0 defense against all posture/state changes. Knockdowns, suppression fire, and actionshot will stop most inour tracks. Get a dizzy to stick and you'll have time to fire away with autoattack unhindered.

The average scatter pistol has an action cost of 48-52, so if your getting spammed by eyeshot an actionshot and legshot2can bail you out.

Get a better helmet - get one made with a high perecntage special resist to acid.

Hotkey a muon gold for emergencies.

Wearing any medic-related tag into combat is begging for eyeshot - in group situations the first thing I want to do is take the healers out of the equation, so don't advertise it any more than you can help.

Seethersol had some great answers, but I'm going to give you one more:

Some guys will beat you. Period. It's not that eyeshot is too uber, or that your taking DOC was a mistake. It means, very simply, THERE ARE SOME COMBINATIONS OF SKILLS THAT WILL LOSE TO OTHERS.

This seems obvious. But as I surf these forums, it seems someone is always willing to complain that THEIR combination gets beaten by someone else's and they demand that a change be made to correct this imbalance.

I don't mean to imply that there are not "exploits" of skill trees. But to assume a DOC or MERCHANT or even a DE could go against a skilled BH with eyeshot (or whatever) is just ludicrous.

Fenuillard, I realize you were just asking for hints and tips. And I hope you get some. I guess I'm overreacting to what SEEMS to be a consensus that EVERY solo player must be able to have a skill or tactic that can stand up to EVERY other player.

That's unrealistic and - IMHO - contrary to what I hoped was the spirit of this game.

Furball, I am perfectly ok with losing some fights, otherwise PvP wouldn't be much fun. I was just a bit perplex about this eyeshot attack, and wish I could at least put up a decent decent fight against these.

So anyway against an eyeshoter its legshot2 spam time ! too bad it uses 52 mind when in armor (

The dizzy/KD combo is another solution except that, as of now, our dizzying attack (full auto single line) is bugged and the dizzy state it inflicts lasts zero seconds.

My best bet would be KD then legshot 2 to benefit from the damage bonus on a KDed target. I ll try that.

thanks !

imho the best way is to knockdown your opponent - stun him and finish him with crippling shot.

Just adding one comment for you Furball :

You might consider revising your position about Doctors : you can build a viable PvP template around this class , (nothing devastating like a pistoleer/Bh pistol/smuggler combo ) but still : Combine master doc buffs ( 2K plus on substats, almost 3 k on health and action ) with a good suit of composite armor you toggle on and off when healing, a complete self heal ability (stim Es), a complete removal of state effects, bleeds cures, poison cures, and pair it with sound ranged fighting abilities and you can go quite far.

I am just an occasionnal PvPer, for fun and the pleasure of fighting a smart opponent, not a computer controled one. I have no major difficulties killing commandos, creature handlers, meleers, riflemen, pistoleers and carbiniers. Bounty hunters (especially dabbling ones) are another story !

AnywayI heardeyeshot will be restricted to master bounty hunters soon, so I guess my PvP life will become easier.

invest in a HIGH special protection acid adv composite helm. I have a krayt segment helm with 73% special protection acid and I can tank eyeshots. I've been hit with a 100-300dmg scatter pistol 20 times and lived

The vast majority of eyeshots come from scatter pistols, which are acid dmg. I think I've been hit by a riflemen twice in pvp over 4 months...so energy really isnt my concern. A tantel helm with energy and acid special protect would be best overall protection, but composite can get acid up higher.

first time I was owned by eyeshot I noticed the BH's action pool had been nearly completly depleted by its high ham costs. If you have a good composite helmet the BH wont be able to eyeshot you down faster than the combination of actionshot2+1 + HAM costs of using eyeshot will waste his action pool. So unless he's neutron pixied or buff just bleeding him and spamming legshot should actually take him down.

Also since you're a master doc you could just do what my Master Doc friend did. Put all your eggs in the mind pool and have your other stats at minimum then walk around in a full suit of composite and buff your other stats up. It may sound risky but that strategy has really paid off for him.

Others already said it but just get a full set of good composite and you will be fine.

I wear a 79% helmet and players using eye shot are really not an issue in pvp...

Only class that currently kick my ass are KD/Dizzy class....

And like others said, migrate your stats.

As a master carabinner/doc my stats unbuffed are as follow :

health 650

Strenght 400

Constitution 400

Action 650

Quickness 400

Stamina 400

Mind 1100

Focus 600

Willpower 800

My mind still comes down quick when I spam specials while wearing composite but it's only because muon gold is currently bugged ( doesn't raise secondary stats currently). Once that bug is fixed I should be fine...

Well as a master carbineer, near master doc (63000xp to go), I have to agree with the comments here. Have just finished my final stat migration and my health, action and their substats are all at 400. Mind is at 1100, willpower 800 and focus 1100 (could be other way around, whichever one controls regen is at 1100). When I plan on going into combat (pve or pvp) all health and action stats are buffed, and on goes the composite armor.

My mind regenerates at a very good rate with these stats, even in full composite. Enough for me to spam specials, heal myself if neccesary and still come out in pretty good shape at the end of the fight.

i concur with everyone here. as a doctor, you don't have to worry about any of your health and action stats. just max all three mind pools, and any thing left over goes into primary health and action.

the only problem is that you'll probably have to rely on food or spice to take on and off the armor. doctor's buffs don't help you wear armor. and if you have your stats migrated as suggested, i suspect you won't be able to take it on and off at will....

finally.... visit your master musicians and dancers. they can buff mind up to 2 hours at master. dancers buff mind. musicians buff the substats. you just need to watch and listen for 8 minutes each. it can be concurrently. the buffs will be exactly double your natural pools.

I am a master doc with average carabinier skills ( 2 3 0 2 ) and have great difficulties when I face Pistoleers/bounty hunters that eyeshot me to death in 10 seconds.

When I face them, I have full D buffs and a suit of decent composite armor, but my damage output seems too low to take them down before they ruin my mind bar. I can only survive, or exceptionally kill them using my equilibrium ability, being a zabrak.

Could anyone post a viable strategy to counter this kind of opponent ?
