Anyone really think that registry on the planet map really makes any difference any more? I need to drop the boxes I have in merchant for a while but all I was really using them for was planet registration anyways.

I wonder how many people actually go planet to planet and pull up the list of vendors to go visit them.

First, all vendors can be included in the planitary search from bazaar. No boxes in merchant are required, you can list your goods on your artisan level vendor and list it.

Second, many people still use the planitary search feature. If you're not quite sure what you're looking for, it's often more interesting to go browsing this way, rather than directly from the bazaar terminal.

Having said that, you still won't loose too awful many people, so long as your product is unique, your vendor well stocked, and your location good

I run Ubuntu Linux and play SWG with Cedega. Give the live CD a try, you'll like it

Does planetary registration affect having your vendor(s) being included in the global player bazaar search? I use that all the time looking for stuff.

I dropped the advertising line of merchant shortly after the galactic bazaar search went live. There have been many changes since then, but I added it back in recently (my sales dipped a little lower than I wanted so it is time to advertise). I was hit by the Doc/BE transition of the CU, so I think that had a lot to do with it. My target audience changed, so I kind of had to get my name out there all over again.

Once I have an established client list for my stims/enhancers/chef tissues/tailor tissues, I will probably reallocate those skill points. No sense advertising if your repeat business is strong enough to keep the doors open, right?

while on Flurry, don't visit Ojes Yobe's Liquidation Vendors just 800M from Theed starport on Naboo (neg5219 3419) - cause they ain't there anymore! They are now exclusively located in Mos Athens Mall

I'm not sure how much of an effect the vendor search has had. My reputation/word of mouth generates most of my sales.

I haven't used the planetary vendor search since vendor's items have been searchable on the Bazaar. Main reason is I've done theshop hopping before and hit store after store with nothing on their vendors. It got so irritating. Now, I knowwhatever I'm looking foris going to be there because I justsaw it on the Bazaar.

some professions like med crafting need little advertising.

i put several mil worth of bacta meds and stim on my vendor that was not even on the over head map and in a out of the way player city.

though vendor search and word of mouth my vendor sold out in less than a week

After having no choice other than to use the planetary map for SO long and driving across planet after planet looking for a damn CA...I now only use vendor search on the bazaar

My alt is a master merchant and is our cities mall manager. I tell my merchants that I feel it best to master the profession, but if they don't have the sp's and aren't sure what not to have, the advertising tree is the first thing I tell them to pass on. We are a spam free mall, so not having any adv. is fine.
