I agree also. it would be nice if you can have a shop in NPC cities like Cafa said , but of course, you have to pay maintance.

- and some better possibilities to handle Vendors...
- a better way to "sell" Items to vendors...
not the current way to sell itemsitems one by one,
it would be better to sell groups of items with the same price for example...
- Add to Master Merchant a Vendor-Time of 60 Days ....
- i agree with Lonlyghost this is a very good idea ... but this "Shopbuilding" must be able to build into Playercities too
and for Master Merchants only .. so can´t everybody plant this building and there is another possibility to make the
Master Merchant more importent ...
just my little ideas

A structure we can really get comfortable in. Merchant tents just dont cut it. They are tiny, archaic in light of the technologies available in this time period, and are even oddly shaped.
We need a structure. A real Shop, where we can have Muzak running, flashing lights, Real counters and cash registers, display cases, the ability to rent rooms to other Merchants and allow for individual Admin rights to each room, and enough storage to use them well.
This is a wonderful idea. Admin on individual rooms alone would make this game much more merchant-friendly.Nice thought!

They should charge quite a bit to have a shop in an NPC city, and even more if it's a large lot and/or is in a major hub like Coronet or Theed
The "lease" fee would also become just one more great way to take some $$ out of the economy

Agree.
I still think there's enough space in NPC cities to sell commerce store spaces. Maybe it's just Tempest, but even in Nov 2003 when it was really heavy server traffic the room was there to open a store. I also think that the "store" spaces should be available to anyone with a craftiing profession. This INCLUDES scout.

This would be cool, but would you have an "on-line" vendor or would it still be like it is now?
It would look nice if you could display what is for sale, and as it is sold it is removed from the display case.

Here's a thought: SHOP FRONTS
A shop design for each planet/buildingtype. That shop looks fairly generic, but it looks like a shop. Each shop can have a 'module' added into it which will make it a 'suchnsuch' shop - for example:
Bob the droid engineer wants a droid engineer shop on Tatooine. He finds an architect to make him one and builds the 'droid engineer shop front' (a novice DE item) and gives it to the architect. The architect builds the shop and uses the DE Shop Front as a module withint it.
The shop, when it comes out, looks like a normal Tattooine shop, except for the sparking droid parts littering the outside and the signpost that looks like a droid shell. You've seen the Droid Engineer room in Guildhalls - it would use parts from that to make it uniquely 'Droid Engineer' shop from the outside.
Timmie the chef also wants a Tatooine shop. He makes the 'chef shop front' and gives it to the architect. When the shop is built, instead of broken droid parts, there's a stall with hanging dried lizards outside (as seen in Epi1 and around Tatooine cities).
I'd have it that all crafting professions (including BE, Ranger, Doctor etc) have the ability to make their 'shop fronts'. The shop itself would be the same for a planet, but the shop fronts would be what made them look different.
For Master Merchants, the ability to place a 'Mall' shop. A much larger shop with rentable rooms. This has already been detailed by better minds than mine in the merchant forums so I'll leave it here.

I agree. I know I would love to have a vendor/shop to sell my resources from. Hard to do right now without Artisan skills.
Had to get rid of all my Artisan Skills to get close to Master Ranger and Master Pistoleer.
