Here's an idea i had...player delivery missions related to bazzar purchases.

Assumption: via Bazzar one can view every item for sale in the galaxy, including player vendor locations.

I'll try to explain via an example as I go along.....

1. go to bazzar and make a purchase of some product for sale somewhere. if its local I can retrieve the item then and there (like it is now) if its at a different location I would be given an addtional option of having the product delivered for a fee (lets say 5% of the value of the purchase price) so a product bought for 100k I could have it delivered to the location I bought it at for 5k.

now the above by itself I think is a good idea on its own however I think we can add to the system and make it more interesting by adding the following.

2. instead of having an instant delivery by paying the 5% of the value of the goods bought. A timer for how long the goods take to arrive is determined by how far away they are.... if the goods are on the same planet then it would take 30 minutes for the goods to arrive... if off planet it would take 1 hour to arrive.

3 create an additional bazzar type of terminal in cities or player cities that is a "contract delivery terminal" at this terminal players can see what goods need to get delivered from one location to another. ex deliver a package from xxx,yyy on talus to xxx,yyy on corellia. the player looking at this "job board" can then pay a small fee to take on that delivery mission. (the fee they would have to pay to get that mission is based on the fee payed in (1)10%. so with the example in (1) the person would pay 500cr.

That player would then have 30 minutes or 1hour to make the delivery. If successfull they would get 80% of the fee from (1) againusing the running example the player would earn 4000cr for a nice tidy profit of 3500cr. An email would be sent to the person who made the original purchase and wanted delivery notifing them that the goods have arrived and are availble to be retrieved.

IF the player wasn't successful in delivering the package in time then their mission would be a failure and they have lost their 500cr they payed for the mission.

If there was still time left the delivery mission would be placed back on the termial for someone else to attempt.

if no onewas successfull in making the delivery a magical npc player would make the delivery and the person whomade the original purchase and wanted delivery would recieve a email notifing them that the goods have arrived and are availble to be retrieved.

pros of this system

- newbies and veterans alike can get easy "player" created delivery missions.

- no new money is actually generated, it only is sloshed around in the basin, but a little goes down the faucet.

- other ???

cons

- devs need to code and make this work.

- change bazzar rules to show all items for sale in ALL location including player vendors.

-other ???

Not a bad idea but the payout wouldn't be that spectacular considering the 6k limit on the bazaar at present. I like the way about the timer in order to prevent players stealing the item, but i'm not sure how it would work with deletion. Assuming you're actually delivering that item itself.

The concept certainly contains more depth than current delivery missions. Back when we just walked, they made delivery missions about the price of a shuttle ticket, plus or minus a few credits. I always assumed this was to get you to run the mission on foot (particularly from Bestine to Anchorhead and back).

JTL certainly changes this, especially now that all starting characters get a hyperspace capable ship.

I'd vote for the idea! Be even neater to have to meet the person if they were online.

ya soory I guess I missed that...... no limit on price on the baz. can make delivery of a item worth 1mil pretty profitable.
