I did a search and didn't come across anything like this, so here goes.
Most of the time, when I am in need of a specific item I have to travel across Corellia, Naboo, Tatooine, and Dantooine to find one vendor that might be carrying it. And, usuallyI need a very specific item; such as, a certain color or type.Sometimes I find it late into the day, and sometimes I do not find it at all. This is where my idea comes in. I am not actually sure if this is possible. It might load the server up too much to even be able to do it, but I thought I should throw it out here anyway.
Instead of travelling over the whole galaxy to find one very specific item, why not have a terminal in all major cities that searches player-owned vendors. These would be categorized like the bazaar, but no buying, only looking. It would have all the info a bazaar would about the item also. It would show the exact waypoint and planetof the vendor where the item listed resides.
Benefits of having this terminal:
- No more travelling the galaxy to find one specific item you need.
- Boosts sales for merchants with limited stock.
- Gets the word out about certain merchants with good items. Merchants would see an increase in sales with their new regular customers.
- Lower inflation due to knowing everyone's prices, and not just the big monopolies in Coronet and/or Theed.

- Less spam in cities. With the terminal, people can just automatically see whatplayer vendorshave.
This terminal would be used for a fee of course. A merchant would pay the amount to be in the system for let's say, two weeks. After that, they have to re-subscribe to it.
Like I said before, I'm not even sure if this is possible. I know the server keeps track of everyone's items/sales, but can it tap into that information and put it all on one terminal for simplicity's sake? Would that overload the server? This idea seems out there for possibility, but oh, what a day it would be if this was implemented.
Thoughts anyone? Constructive criticism? Possibility issues? What does everyone think?

This is a good idea, butit would take a lot of working out. First, the amount of items that would be covered would be so large, that it would take you an hour to find what your looking for anyway. Second, we already have the vendor sort on the planetary map, which should handle most things. For everything else, there's Mastercard.

I like the planetary map, but the problem with it is that it gives the name and locationof the vendor, but nothing else. Usually, when I use it, I never find what I'm looking for. They are mostly empty, picked clean, or simply do not have what I am searching for. This terminal would solve that. No running there only to find out it is empty when you can see what is in it beforehand. But you're right, much work would be needed for it to be implemented. Maybe too much, who knows.
