It's something that I have always wondered. Is there one of the Devs or someone there in charge of evaluating the different servers economies ? And how changes to the game might affect it.

I would love to see a friday feature go in depth and in detail on SWG economy as it is one of the most unique features of SWG.

There was a Friday Feature a few months ago that went into some detail about the economy.

Sadly, I believe it's the equivalent of a collateral duty. But SWG probably isn't big enough to warrant a full-time analyst.

All the same, if we are going to have a dialogue on the SWG economy, it would be nice to know who we are talking to.

They definitely track the economy at the macro level. Its probably not a full time job but part of the overall game design/health part of someones job.

Now that we have these new sections, perhaps they could get correspondents for these issue clumps.

I beleive we do have a dev dedicated to these things its called I am sorry if I get this wrong astrometrics. A guy or guys that routinely compare in game numbers. This is how they discover money dupeing exploits so damn fast. I did love the article a few months back that shows the actual charts of credit flow in the game. You do not make such charts unless you have somebody analyzeing them.

I really feal for the guy or guys that have to do this. Surely the players toss them curveballs from time to time. On my server right after player cities came out maybe three weeks. We had a huge surge in spendinginmy town had a number of people haveing four or five houses so we could wall the place in and place bases in it. I knew as a community we had to have thrown out 500 million in like two days.

I know this because we actually had a character could only assume it was a dev comein and ask a series of questions to citizens he ran into stuff. Like are all these structures occupied. How much maint would you say is the average. How many players are usually in this town.

To give you a scope we had atleast 400 medium generics building the wall around the town. With like four bases plopped down infront of the city hall. So obviously somebody is paying close attention to the numbers.
