I can't speak for all the other professions because I don't know what I'm missing, but, it seems as though doc's see to get the short end of the stick when it comes to vendor listings.....
we have a SUB category, "Pharmaceutical," for all of our products. I think it's about time "Medical Supplies" was added to the main categories on the vendor page. Actually, It should go something like this

Medical Supplies
- Ehancement Pack
- Small Stimpack
- Woundpack
- Resucitation Kit
- Cure State Pack
- Medical Component
Also, "Factory Crate" should not be in Misc, there should be aCHECKBOX for "Display factory crates of related items"

Unfortunately, it makes almost no difference whether they add meaningful categories for us, unless those categories are accompanied by a change to the filter system that allows Factory Crates to be sorted by their constituent item type.
Until that time, Doctor vendors will continue to be filled with hundred and hundred of items that can only be sorted by name or price... :/
Gah... How I long for the day when I can meaningfully sort the 700+ factory crates on each of my vendors...
