I think it's a bad thing... worst way ever to think you're adding content this way. flooding the market w/ high end loot is only more reason for the millionaires to hang on to what they have... Or maybe no one realized it the first time around, THEY LIKE TO DO THINGS FOR THEMSELVES AS TO SAVE THE HEADACHE OF PAYING SOME ONE ELSE!

While speculation is difficult, there are two basic economic prinicples that we can attempt to posit in the new system. The first is supply and demand. As there is more likely to be an increase in the number of high end SEAs, Pearsl crystals (among other things) we will probably see a drop in the price. I will note as an example the holocron. When holocrons showed themselves in our inventories, the average price dropped from 3-5M to under 500k on most servers.
The second basic economic principle that we can overlay here is that economic growthis realized byincreasing the quanitity or quality of the resources (labor, capital, land and entrepreneurship. By increasing the drops and spawns the economic potential grows as more goods (hard and soft assets) will be exchanged, fluidity in the economy can lead to both extremes... hoarding by the rich/powerful against the poor/slaves (Marx) or a strengthening of the middle class (Locke, who also went on to say that this is where the real revolution is to begin).

ha, well said. but what i have noticed is all teh spawns being camped 24/7 (like usuall) but the payouts being much greater... so yes the market is flooded with high end loot.. the prices are already falling on everything.. a month ago i was offering 70 mill for a jetpack, yesterday i passed the chance to get one for 50... only beacuse i think they will be worth 30 b4 too long.. so what does this mean? it means the rich will no longer have elite items to spend there millions on, and there will be no way for an average player to find anything that will be worth much... "looting" will no longer be a valid form of making money in the game. GO CRAFTERS!

This is a very healthy and positive move on the devs behalf and i applaud them. The only people the new loot spawn/drop increase hurts is the greeedy loot barons that have been making ridiculous amounts of cash off everyone else. Its time for all the lovely SEA's and such to be available to everyone, not just the elite. The prices on many loot items was absurd and its about time they come down to sane levels. Well done SOE devs, you guys hit a homerun on this one.
Folks the game is meant to be fun, and since the last 2 loot updates i have seen more people having fun and enjoying the game more. this is a good thing.

I do not think that the increased spawns/loot drops will have an effect on the economy of SWG as a whole. The effect will be contained within the markets that these increased loot drops will effect. Krayt pearls, for example, may take a brief dip in price then continue to climb or they will show no effect and decrease in the long run. The market will simply correct itself as it always has and another item will take the place of it on the price scale. Then again, if the loot system breaks and everything returns to normal, you can actually see a negative effect for the buyer in that market.

I'm enjoying this new system. Since i don't get much time to go out and actually loot all the cool poster and such, I can afford to buy them off vendors and from auctions.
Happy to see they implented this, very happy.

As of yesterday on Intrepid, premium Krayt pearls were going for 500k, as opposed to the 2-3 mil they were before the spawn. I even saw one person offering 15 pearls he'd looted since the patch up, for only 8 million credits. So, speculation is, Jedi will take over the world, weaponsmiths wont make anymore money and armorsmiths will need to learn how to craft Jedi robes.

You will see a decrease in price of loot that can't be camped.....but the price of high end loot that can be camped will stay the same....cause its the same people camping it....so the source of cerain things does not change.

I agree..I'd love to loot some decent stuff, but I don't even have the heart try and go to sites that are 'camped' 24/7...would be nice if they spread the high end loot out randomly to different spawns/NPC's, instead of having Nyax (sp?) alwasy drop the awsome SEA's why not put them on random different level spawns throughout the galaxy (sorta like crystals which I've found on alot ofdifferent npc's lately)

This will increase the amount of consumer goods available in the SWG economy.Normaly this would increase consumer spending and cause the economy to heat up. However, it is occuring in conjunction with a decline in player incomes (the solo group nerf).
Since we don't know the extent of the impact of either factor, it is impossible to say how they willballance out against each other.
