I find it amazing that people have been able to amass such large fortunes in game... I have been playing since a week after launch and the most I have at this point is 30 mill on one character. But congrats to you, and your new found fortune! Just a bit of advice, now that you have posted about your 'inheritance', you might want to take care of some of your fellow citizens... maybe remove the property taxes, or some other surcharges for a bit... that's what a good mayor would do...

Screw that. Keep the money. You deserve it.
Buncha carebears in this game, where are the cold hearted money grubbers?

Lucky you... when my best buddy left the game he said he was going to let his money and stuff die right along with his character
and he was a millionaire and had tons of stuff.

It's easy. You just have to be smart about the business you do.
For instance, I've been running a mining company for quite a while now. Before JtL, I figured the resouce market was going to boom due to a) people grinding shipwright and b) people needing ships. I was "leaked" information on what resources were going to be big for ships (steel, ore, aluminum) and I horded them. When JtL launched, I sold those at 5cpu and I had millions of them in my stockpile. I felt bad about price gouging like that, til I heard of people paying 10cpu for grind steel because it was becoming scarce.
That's just one way I did it.

rofl i've never been left much in cash, but when a friend/guildmate left game he dropped probably 20-30crates of armor pieces (stun too) and two full sets of comp armor on me. to say the least, i won't need to buy armor for a very long time.
it's very nice though, for a "coming back to the game" gift for a guildmate's friend i got him an almost complete suit of comp. when he had left, comp was just starting to enter the player economy and to say the least he was shocked that i would give him nearly a full suit of 80 kin armor with no questions asked.
