I'm guessing that this would be the place to ask about this.I'm amaster Merchant and have a 3PO unit for a merchant driod. I've programed all its commands and then recorded my message and added the waypoint to my vendors in the guild mall. That all done i shuttle off to Cnet, Bestine or Theed to place my droid. I give it a route to follow or sometimes leave it and tell it to stay. Then i turn on the barker. I watch it for 5minutes to make sure its working. That done i head off to continue with the game (either Crafting, JTL or working on Pistoleer). i check back everynow and then or get a fellow guild member to check if the droid is still there. But it seems as soon as i leave the area the Droid stops shouting out my vendors location and if i shuttle or leave the planet its disappears into my DataPad.
HOW do i get my droid to advertise my vendor if it stops working or goes back into my datapad after a few minutes. I might as well not have one, and sit there AFK with a Macro for myself. PLEASE HELP!!!

When barker modules were first introduced, this is how they were supposed to work, you had to keep withing a certain distance (more accurately on the same server unit) for them to continue to bark. They were meant to give you the opportunity to craft nearby or go to the cantina, that sort of thing.Looks to me like it's working as intended.

Barker driods are always interesting!!
Simply put. The only way to guarantee your droid does not go poof, is to stay in the same zone area.
However, if you drop one (normally around a starport) and take the shuttle (do NOT use your JTLS ship) to another planet or area, chances are your droid will stay on it's route. It may go poof, check your datapad, if so, try again.
It WILL go poof if you use JTLS. Flying into space will auto-store your droid, guaranteed.
Speaking as a DE and using Barkers, if I want to use my spam droid, I make sure I drop it off at the start of the evening, and spend an evening using the trusty shuttles to do my harvesting and crafting.
If I plan on going into space, then forget the barker droid, just enjoy space and rely on the map to generate business.
Hope this helps

Somewhat related - for my house, I want something that informs vistors where my vendors are. I was thinking a droid would be neat, but if the barker droid goes away when I log off, its useless

If you have an extra vendor, just use that to tell people where the vendors are. Although it would be cool to have a patrolling droid in your house telling people where things are.
