Actually business runs in cycles I've noticed. I've been a chef for many months now.

Some weeks I can barely keep stock on the shelves, other weeks it just sits there. I think folks are in the habit of splurging when they find something they want or like, they'll buy several at once and then not buy anything like it for a while.

This happens to other businesses too. I run a small business and buy my resources. I still need power for my factories, and for the few harvestors I can put down...not many really. I usually buy 100 to 300k of power at a time and then don't go buy more power for a couple of months usually.

One thing about posting in the trade forums though is that only about 10% of the players actually look and post on the boards. you might try selling some small stacks on the bazaar with your waypoint in your description. Then if they sell go ahead and gmail the buyer with the waypoint of your business and your prices. ( good to gmail them in case they didn't read the description ). You might try spamming in auction chat about it too, see if that helps you generate sales.

I still think the non power harvestor kits and the anti decay kits shold have been nontradeable and only usuable on an item owned by the character ( for example you could only use the nph on a harvestor on your lots ) and then any item that the adk was used on would become nontradeable. Sadly they didn't do that and I'm sure we'll see some folks spending a large amount of credits to gobble up these kits. Myself my toons don't have the kind of money to buy em. I've always pretty much refunneled all my money back into my chefs business, and my combat toon has seen 1 million only once and I usually don't keep it long.

First off, there are some good things since spawn rates have been upped. The prices are starting to come down finally on really good skill tapes and pearls. When I left flawless pearls sold for 10+ million, now 2.5 - 3 million range seems to be the norm.

I thought maybe lack of credits due to solo / group nerf also played a part in the price drops. However seeing the insanity over anti-decay kits made me rethink that. On eclipse, prices have actually been going up since they came out. At first they were selling for 5 million, I got lucky and bought one for 5 million whew. Then auctions started hitting 10 million so people raised their prices. Then a few greedy morons said hmm why not 15 million and those are selling too. So the credits are definitely still in the game.

Finally, one thing Ive seen is a total lack of demand on goods. When I left, fusion power on eclipse was in very high demand. The usual miners who supplied it had moved onto the more lucrative field of resources for shipwrights. The remaining big suppliers like Laforge power raised his rates to 2 cpu (from 1.5) due to high demand. Eclipse power corp (which was huge) actually closed several shops because they couldnt keep them stocked. Now, 4 months later I see little demand for power. I still see Laforge selling for 2 cpu. So I started a vendor and made my rates at 1.5 cpu figuring it will go quickly. Since my vendor started (3 weeks ago) Ive had one total sale (lousy 25k units).

I also see a lot of apathy on trade forums. Ive posted several auction/sales on eclipse forums. Probably had a total of 50 items, mostly skill tapes (all +4 or higher). To date, only one thing sold (+6 polearm accuracy aa). I couldnt sell a naboo sculpture adhesive for lousy 100k (even they used to sell for 1.5 million). Ive had my ris helmet for sale at 6 million straight price, not a single offer which i totally dont get (i expected it to sell in 5 min). I consistently post selling fusion power for 1.5 cpu and yet no business.

What the heck is going on ? Are my prices off ? Did everyone create 3rd and 4th accounts and supplly themselves ? Did ris armor lose its rare appeal ? I'm so frustrated because I cant get a feel for the economy now.

IMHO there are too many people taking advantage of selling thier self powered harvestor kits when they only do combat professions. More and more people are selling those kits just like the anti decay kits for more and more to make people like you go out of business trying to sell power.
