Thread: TO THE COMMUNITY RELATIONS TEAM WE NEED MODERATION.

From the day this Forum started, it has been a hotbed of good information, excellent communication, and viable discussion about the Monetary and Barter system this game has. Many people here have gotten ideas about how to make credits, ways to increase their profit, and many, many other situations like that.

The problem is, since we have no Correspondent OR Moderator, Many threads that should be permanently Stickied at the top of the page are going further to the end of the list. Many questions that have already been answered are being asked over and over because we don't have a Moderator.

I am formally requesting that the Business and Economy forums be represented by a Moderator at the very least, to enable us to have useful threads Stickied. A Correspondent in relation to SWG's Economy is also a move I believe you should consider, but at the very least, a Moderator is needed. (Certainly, factors of the Economy are handled in various Forums *Artisan, Merchant, etc* - But the Economy as a whole is only glossed over in those Forums, which is why I believe a Correspondent could also be in order)

Thanks for your consideration.

Well a Correspondent might be nice. Yeah there's probably a mod that occasionally checked this forum, but probably not a dedicated one.

Sticky management is tough to handle, sometimes. It's more a question of "what's the best organization" than anything else.

I did a quick test, and it looks like my correspondant sticky powers extend to this board, so I assume that right isnot limited to just our own little corner of the forum. I am a little wary of just making threads stickywilly-nilly, are there any "thread of info links" posts that would make good FAQs?

When they revamped the forum organization, we correspondants were a bit worried about boards that fell between current responsibilities. This one might be best aligned with Merchant, but as you said there is a lot of stuff going on that falls outside that profession. Having a case of "tunnel vision" regarding our chosen profession can be a problem for corres sometimes. Adding correspondants is something that has been brought up, but I'm not sure where that's been going. We're a pretty hard-to-handle bunch with our current population, it's possible the devs want to avoid adding more if at all possible.

In any case, correspondants are usually pretty accessible through PMs (although I've heard that the Jedi, BH, and GCW corres get a little swamped). It's true we keep our main focus on our own profession, but we want the game as a whole to be good just like you. It might also be possible to send a PM to one of the board moderators (GarvaandVirrago are pretty active) to request thread stickifying.

Finally (just for full disclosure) I may be getting a little cavalier offering corresondant help simply becuase I'm stepping down soon (I just don't have a replacement yet). Correspondants are volunteers, and may not have time (or the desire) to step outside their area of responsibility.

Well, I like what Auraboron did in the GCW Forum cleanup - Made a single post containing links to "Pertinent" information - We need something like that Stickied for us. I will list below several I personally feel are a good start at an FAQ.
