I played and loved old SWG, because it wasnt so much of a game as it was a model economy. It was basic capitalism in which you come become successful with effort, and it was all about your own creativity and understanding of economics. The game kept me going for nearly two years non stop. I quit afew months ago due to work, and the need to divorce myself from my computer. This was before the vendor search and the CU. Ive kept up on the progress of these new features, but im anything but pleased by what i hear. I have(had) 3 accounts all pure crafters. I was disgusted by the changes done to WS's and AS's because it rendered them boreing and simple with no real challenge or complexity to want to attain. I cancled my doctor and WS/AS accounts simply because these professions have become the last thing from fun to play, even droping a harvester is an ordeal.
Im not a big fan of the Vendor search, its changed Star Wars: Galaxies, into Price Wars: Galaxy, Long gone are the days of near perfect capitolism, and here are the days of bast-ardizedconsumerist Ebayism. Whats the fun in that?
The tendancy to move away from a player economy also concerns me, the new expansion granted nearly zero new crafter content, those that did recievenew content where granted it at the cost of better older content.
What of the old economy remains, Is it even possible to craft and play like in the old days, or has the new system replaced all that made crafting fun and interesting? And is this the first in a series of steps that will render crafting a zero skill point subprofession such as politician and pilot?

The remnants of the Old Economy has been swept away, to be replaced by a New Order.
