I would suggest the Anti-Decay kit, if not for yourself then to sell. I can't speak for other servers but on Starsider I sold mine for 11 million credits but that was when they were new. Either way you can still get a few million for them easily.

As for the ships your choices depends on what pilot skills your take up. Imperials offer the Decimator, Rebels get the Nova and Neutrals get the YT-1300. All of these ships have gun turrets that have to be manned to use (in other words dont consider flying them into combat if you're the only one on board). I suppose they all have their pros and cons. On starsider these ships sell for around 750k credits. Also keep in mind you need to be a master pilot to be able to get these so don't expect to pick one up and launch the day you get it.
