I'm using factories intensively and there are two things that are driving me crazy:
- Why can't I do multiple selection ? Instead of having to pickup (or double-click) any item in the ingredients or outpout, why can't we select multiple things, and drag them all at once (or pick them up)? Getting 40 items out of the factory, then 80 in is such a pain!
- Why can't I see if all the ingredients are really in and how many items the run will actually manufacture ? We would need a simulation option that would simulate the run in a second and tell how many items would be made in the end, with the factory as it is setup when the simulation is done. if the result is 0, then we know we have a problem.
I know that point 2 make me look as a poor noob who should learn how to use a factory. Well... I don't mind.
These two simple things would really make my crafting life easier.

I wouldn't mind seeing these changes, especially the multiple item select. I can't stand dealing with factories for this reason.

My biggest complaint on Factories is the fact that it's the OWNER of the factory that gets the email when a factory run finishes, is cancelled or stops due to lack of resources.
In my opinion, it should be either the person that STARTED the factory, or better yet, the person that loaded the particular schematic should be emailed on status changes for runs of that schematic.
Additionally, when are they going to fix the bug where when a factory runs out of a resource to complete a schematic, the existing resources for the aborted attempt are still used. Here is an example:
If I have a schematic for something that requires
10 steel
10 aluminum
and the schematic is for 100 items, but in the factory I have only
1000 steel
900 aluminum
once the factory has created 90 items, it should stop and email the status.
Then in the factory should still be 100 steel. Instead, the current case
is that only 90 steel is left. It failed to leave the 10 steel from aborted
attempt.
Lastly, an improvement in factory times would be nice. Perhaps a Veteran Reward
to double factory speed or something. Currently, it takes 4 DAYS to create 1000
Advanced Armor Layer Primus. and this results in a MAXIUM of 13 suits of armor.
with armor selling so quick, it is impossible to keep vendors stocked. Because it
is impossible to MAKE the armor faster.
Just my 2 cents worth...

Here's my pet peeves regarding factories...
Extend the hopper access range a little - If I have 2 factories next to each other I would like to be able toopen the Output hopper of Factory A and open the Input hopper of Factory B to transfer items from one factory to another.
Please please please make it so that when I access the schematic slot it will list my schematics alphabetically.
