Thread: Vendor Re-Stocking

First off, I don't know if this is the right place to post this or not, so could someone please point this post in the right direction, please.

Now, has anyone touched upon the hell Merchants go through when the 30 days are up and it's time to re-stock their vendors? I certain feel like it's hell. Having to click on over 1,000 items, per account asI have 5 crafters, more than twice in order to place an item BACK on sale is stupid in my opinion. Has anyone thought of a Re-Stock button that would put the item(s), you HAVE to allow multiple item clicking for this, back on sale based already on the information that the system already has? You can't tell me this isn't possible as when you double click the item in storage it pulls up the info on how much it was being sold for and any item description placed on it.

Has a thread on this regard ever been posted? Anything?

It seems to me as if half the posts on the Merchant (Profession) Forum are on this very problem. Personally, I don't see why the items on a private vendor have to expire in the first place.

ive been running my shop for a long time now... ive found that a busy vendor... even stocked with only 50-60 items and re-stocked regularly u will never have to re-load your vendor... because it will sell before it runs out of time... i havnt mass-restocked my weapons vendors in 3 months..

Well, that may be true if you are only selling one specific kind of item, be it food, weapon, armor, etc. In my case I sell just about everything and while my food is my main selling asset, I may not sell a single weapon in two or three months. That's where my problem lies. And regardless, there is absolutelyno reason in my perspective as to why a restock button or non expiring auctions should be put into effect.

I agree it is asanine... I took a 2 week vacation a few months ago and when I came back I ahd to restock 800 items and now every 30 days or so I have a huge restock

BTW I like to keep my vendors completly stocked it is very hard at asome tiems cause I am a NEW DE and DE sucks. Why does it take over 90 components to make one combat droid

Offer all auction winnings to one of my vendors at my store.

Yeah, I agree. I can't just put two or three items of the same thing in my vendors. Customers don't like coming to a vendor and finding only one of the item they are looking for. At least for the majority of my customers they come in and buy two or more of the same items. Whether for themselves or for their guild, they expect a fully stocked vendor and if I can't supply their demand, then the sale will go else where. So far, though, my customer base is over 1000 strong and a re-stock button for those off months is something in dire need.

Try telling that to a tailor .... When I bothered maintaining stock for regular clothes I had about 30-50 items fall off daily ... not just my tailor vendors butprobaly halfof that was just tailor ....I only had about 600 clothes on my vendors ... and if I hadn't been bothered with doc and could dedicate myself fully to tailor I could have easily had my vendors packed with clothes only and the dropoff rate would have been substantially higher ....

I have a friend that does this but as I don't have her numbers, I can' t use her as an example ... I think i remember her saying about 100 items per day but i'm not positive ...

Well actually I disagree with the idea of non-expiring vendor sales. The mechanism for removing vendors is mostly based on the vendor being empty. If the vendor never empties (even though it may have one item for sale), then no vendors are ever removed. I'm not sure there what happens when a vendor's maintenance empties. I once had a vendor that in the red and operating. But when I added maintenance, it maintained the same condition as when it was in the red.

It would be nice if the stocking time period were longer and it was possible to multiple select items and have them all sell and stock at particular price.

That's a very good point. Item expiration is a necessity to ensure that unattended and empty vendors are taken out of the Planetary map. Nothing I hate more than to spend a lot of time searching for a vendor and for it to be empty when I get there.
