Thread: Hunting list for resources to be sold...

I have decided to run a 2nd Character on Chimeara to support my main Character and I think I've settled on Master Ranger to be able to gather resources and to try and sell them. The only thing is I am still fairly new (been playing for about a month now) and I don't know what resources different professions need, which creatures I can get them from,where to find the creatures and what meat/hide/bone is valuable and what isn't....does anyone have a list or is there a FAQ I missed?

You should watch SWGCraft.com does tend to get slightly out of date but is a good way to see which meats/hides are in shift and what the stats are. SWGCreature.com is a good place to go to find out which creatures drop what type of meat/hide.
Best thing to do is watch the trade forums to see what chefs/AS/doc/BE's are looking for.
One thing that is always sought after no matter what the stats is milk and eggs.
I think there are a few guilds on chimera that are set up as hunter guilds who take contracts on certain meats in shift and meats/hides in general when nothing good is in shift. You should perhaps post this on the chimera boards and ask if there are any guilds recruiting who provide this sort of service full time.

It's also a good idea to post on the professions that you plan on supporting's forums. I know we answer this question at least once a week on the AS forums.

Another way is just to advertise on the trade forums for your server and offer your services. You might even consider setting up pre-contracts with bio-engineers, chefs, doctors, armorsmiths and architects and ask them what they want and then negotiate the rate.

Meats are the highest demand resource as they're used by Docs, Chefs, and BE's. Mostly Herbivore, Avian, and Carnivore. Second would be Wooly or Leathery hide.
For meats you want high OQ, PE, FL. For Hides you want high OQ, SR, Ma. That's a huge generalization but it will get you started and as you get experience and make contracts with buyers you can refine what you're looking for, both stat wise and resource wise.
Also, just about anything will sell if it has high enough stats, but low stat stuff doesn't sell all that well now that holo-days are over.

Keep a list of the people that pay you to hunt as well. Let them know when you are available for a contract, and then stick to your contracts. Also, you need to always keep an eye out for good spawns. Here are what some professions need:
As a BE this is what I frequently need:
Any meat with high OQ/PE/FL.
Any bones with high OQ
Any hides with high OQ
BE Specific:
Insect meat, wild meat, herb meat
Scaley hide
Avian bones
As a Chef I frequenly need:
Carnivore meat: Every stat needs to be decent, with a high PE/OQ/DR
And, of course, Milk
Docs:
Need Avian and Herb meat with high PE/OQ/DR
Architects (and tailors, I think):
Hides and bones, stats do not matter
Tip:
Leave the lower level planets for new players, unless a profession is desparate for the harvest. 300 cpu for Tatooine Avian (average of 6 or 7 units per nuna) is actually not worth your time to collect. Better to collectLokian Avian (more units per creature, and a higher spawn rate of wild lairs)at 20 cpu, since you will gather a far larger stack in the same amount of time. Stick to the higher end planets where you can collect large quantities. In the end, all the professions need as much as they can get.
