ha, thats kind of funny. I solo GDKs without buffs or armor (well brandy, that is a type of buff). Sure it might take me longer than the uber leet buff dude, but it can be done. Oh, and what do you think we people who were around before the buff craze did? Yeah, we all stayed within sight of the starport.
