I hope this is the right place to post this....

In a past life I was an Artisan and could place vendors. Now I am all combat, and can't place vendors... How do combat professions sell their loot (besides trade forums)? I know certain peeps who I believe to be also pure combat, but have vendors in the mall... How is this possible?

They probably invested 24 skill points to get Business 3 in Artisan so they can put up a vendor. It used to be that you could put up vendors and then drop merchant and still be able to operate them, but that was considered an exploit and was changed a while back. If you want a vendor, you'll need to invest at least 24 skill points to get Business 3. Otherwise, you can auction stuff on the trade forusm or have a friend with merchant skills sell the stuff for you.

Thanks for your reply Slim.... With that being said...

Does a Merchant have the ability to make me an administrator of a vendor of theirs? So that I could manage my own inventory? Or do I have to 'offer' it to a vendor?

No. There is no option to add other players as admins to a vendor.

Yes. You have to offer the item to the vendor. Also note, that you should do this with a Merchant that you have made a previous arrangement with and send them an email that you offered some items on their vendor if they are not online since an email is not generated notifying the Merchant of the offer. If you blindly offer the item to any vendor your offer would most likely be either ignored or rejected.

Also, you can only have25 items listedon the bazaar or personal vendors (as offers) at any given time.

This is a great way to get the things sold. Offering to vendor may not work since the vendor must buy your items and then resell them, you get paid right away and the merchant takes the risk on losing credits. You may need to take a smaller cut this way.

On the other hand, if you and the merchant gain a trust, giving him the items with the promise of getting a percent after the sale most likely will give you a larger cut of the sale. You are accepting some risk by doing this. It is less risky to the vendor. This does take some trust.
