Thread: Problems with the Hides, Meats, and Bones
You can easily get 10-20 cpu on high quality hides for armoursmiths, and even junk quality hides are needed in bulk by architects and tailors. Just be sure to have large stacks, or it really isn't worth buying. Tatooine Wooly and Nabooian Scaley hides are specific tailor resources that you could probably sell for 5 cpu.

Hello,
When I joined this game, I decided that I wanted to become a Master Commando/Master Marksman. I managed to move quickly to accomplish my goals in a matter of a couple of weeks, and I then had to go about the task of earning the money necessary to buy the armor and weapons I would need to get involved in the Galactic Civil War. Unfortunately, when I tried to hunt and harvest the resources from the critters I killed, I realized that they had absolutely zero value.
Everybody who joins this game and decides that they will be doing any type of combat related profession goes on long grind hunts. While doing this, they kill a huge number of critters, and somebody always harvests the resources from the critter, either for scout XP, or just because they think it might have some value. You go onto the bazaar to see about selling your hides, and you realized that several thousand hides sell for a couple hundred credits.
I would hope there is some way to fix this. After a couple of weeks of not being able to earn any money though hunting, I had to drop my Master Marksman and pick up the Bounty Hunting profession. Now when I started this game, I didn't want to do Bounty Hunting because I noticed that there was a ton of Bounty Hunters in the game. Unfortunately I now know why this is. When you do Bounty Hunting missions you can earn 30k or more per mission. I had to take this up in order to buy my weapons, pay the maintenance on my house, and to get my armor.
If we could figure out some way to make hunting profitable, and some way for other combat professions, especially Commandos, to earn the money that is necessary without having to take Bounty Hunters, I think the number of Bounty Hunters would shrink in a hurry. But as it is now, almost any combat professions will have to take Bounty Hunters as a secondary profession in order to subsides their other professions.
I play on Ahazi, but I would imagine that this problem doesn't only exist on that galaxy. If it only is happening on Ahazi, than I'm sorry and I feel goofy, but the reasons for it happening on Ahazi exist on the other galaxies, so I would imagine that this is a common problem.
Anyways, that is my rant for the month. Thank you for listening, and please understand that I have nothing against Bounty Hunters, so please don't take it that way.

In my ~2 years as a Ranger (plus CH, Swords, Rifles...I changed a few times, but always kept Ranger), I've made close to 400 million credits selling only creature resources (hide, meat, bone, fish, eggs, milk) to various crafters on Kettemoor alone. After the first few months, I had enough cash that I stopped seriously harvesting anything worth less than 75-80 cpu. Unfortunately, I've never seen the point of having that much cash, and I've spent/given away all but about 1 million.
You can make VERY good cash this way. It was better in the old days, but there is still a strong market.
We could make rediculous amount of money selling resources preCU and can still make very good money now
Just plopping resource on the bazaar is about as useful as putting a For Sale sign on your comic book collection, but expecting people to see it where it sits in your bedroom.
To seel resource requires a bit of detective work or networking on your part, to find out what the market needs. Many ways to do that have been described above. One other option is looking on your server's trade forum for crafters who put out hunting contracts.
One thing to do to still get some value out of the random piles of harvest junk you have, is to get access to a Critter Recycler somehow. Convert the hide, bone and meat into large piles of generic, and sell them to Architects, Tailors, Chefs, BioEngineers, or just use them to make large runs of traps, or tents for resale.
I have earned credits since day one in the organic resource market, so let me help you out.
There are 4 types of organic resources; meat, hides, bones, and loot.
Okay, loot may not, technically, be an organic resource, but creatures with lootable components can be big business, especially now in the post-CU era.
