This is one more thing to add to the mix, but has anyone wondered how we can go several game days without eating or drinking?

This may sound trivial but hear me out. this combined with a miriad of "weather clothes" makes me wonder about several things.

Chefs don't become chefs to feed people, they do it to make money. Period.

Hours in the tattooine sun and you aren't the least bit thirsty? Lets not even count all those people hunting a krayt dragon.

perhaps maybe only a token is necessary, allow a person to heal 1 wound point per 5 mins if they have both food & drink in their stomach.

ok I'm done. thanks all

I've played a few other MMORPG's where your actions took longer time and your health took longer to regenerate if you where too thirsy or hungry, but those where mostly crafting/building oriented. Don't know how easy it would be implemented in SWG. But i agree it would add to the game

The trouble with the idea of filling meaning something is, usually for combat types filling is a BAD thing as it reduces options. I mean, would you take osmething just for the sake of filling when it meant you couldn't use as much Vercupti as needed if a situation turned critical?

Why don't I holster my weapon? Whereare my 20+pets? Where is my speeder? Why does shooting my rifle make me weak? Why can't I make starship components in a factory?

There are a number of questions that I'd like answers to, ones that make no sense.

Vaylis Arturin - Elder Armorsmith

I can remember the question being ask a long time ago on the old boards and the answer given was "Because its not fun to be required to carry food/drink around with you just to be able to take part"

Which, I thought, was an absolutely brilliant explaination...until they added doc buffs.

I agree, hell I think you should be attacked in an NPC city for brandishing a weapon. IMHO.

Whereare my 20+pets?

I think this one was ment to be a joke..... but this is the reason that creature handlers were brought down in power. Now if you could bring out multipleNPC pets, up to a certain difficulty level. That'd be cool.

Where is my speeder?

I think vehicles need to be pulled and stored at a garage. if you leave it behind because you died. well... have a nice walk.

Why does shooting my rifle make me weak?

this one I can't whole heartedly agree with you on. this is part of why they are doing the combat revamp

Why can't I make starship components in a factory?

This would be nice, the Dev's concern was something about cornering a market. The next question that needs to be asked it ok. So what about the rest of the professions? Should only sub components be allowed to be made in factories?

Got any others, these are some good common sense kind of questions I'd like answers on too.

I've played games (and I think Ultima Online was like that at one time) that required you to eat, and what a pain in the arse it is! It addsnothing to the game, once you've had to feed your toon for the 100th time, it's lost its charm and becomes a chore. It may be more realistic but hardly fun.

And by the way, you CAN bring out multiple pets, as long as the total difficulty level doesn't exeed your level. I bring out my Crimson Cat and ride my Giant Carrion Spat all the time.

In this case, in the realism vs. fun battle, fun should win out. No required eating/drinking, please.

Careful what you wish for or some while down the line we'll have questions like: Why don't I need to go to the bathroom?, why can't I change my underwear?, why don't the toons sometime get itches?, why can't I comb my hair myself? how come I can carry a whole bookcase on me,,,,

If you want realism there's this game called IRL or somesuch

Eating and drinking to keep healthy and in shape on the game is like saying eat to much and u can become to obese, it just wouldnt work, people would become fed up with having to eat and drink every time they log in plus hunters and pvpers need the "stomach" space to eat and drink combat foods, just a thougth

Its a neat idea but keep in mind the more options you toss in, the harder it is to learn the game for newcomers.

I mean when I first started playing, it took me a cpl months actually before I realized I could get food with stat modifiers (prior to that the only food I ever saw was what I foraged or the melon you start the game with)

I do like the WoW 'rest' system however, its sorta like the BF in SWG but has more impact. Basically the more 'tired' you are the smaller XP bonus you can get. If you are fully rested, you get a XP bonus and if you are dog tired you get zero bonus (no penalty, or add ons). To get rested you must go spend time in an Inn.

I think some small things could be done to enhance the value of food and drink in the game.

1. Increased duration on your food/drink buff if you consume it in a cantina or a camp
2. Increased stats on your food/drink buff if consumed in a cantina or a camp
3. Highest possible increase if the cantina is player owned.
