One thing missing from the "Combat Upgrade" is the word economy. In short, many professions that were once necessary on many fronts are now so one dementional and near useless. Please humor me and read through the professions and and what has happened.
Doctor: Used to be the leading profession for many reasons. They made money, were necessary for other players to go into combat, they put money back into the economy by purchasing meat, harvester, factories, resources and droids. Noe, their main benefit is healing the group and a small minimal buff.
(Pre-CU Grade A+, Post CU Grade D)
Architect: One of the biggest sellers was always the food factories and harvester. Most people respec'd to combat toons and harvester sales are down allot.
Bio Engineers: Completly overwhelmed now. Way to much to do to be effective without pricing up novice marksman to end it all.
Droid Engineer: Basically, you now craft BH droids and Ship droids, all the other stuff is a waste of time and skills.
Dancer/Musician: The same thing as Doc. With BF taking so long to build up now and the fact that there is no need to group, what's the point.
Anyway, there are more isses, but I need to get back to figure out how to make some money.
Later,
CARBZ

ex-doc? I am too, it sucks -- I got over it and figured out what BE meds are of use these days ... There are some, you just have to figure out which ones, samegoes for chef
Most of my "useless" resources I've been able to use with my chef which I'd stopped using in the pre-cu world. With my meds business, I simply didn't have time. Now I have a BE, and a chef and am enjoying them both very much -- not to mention my tailoring and powerups which I've always loved ![]()
The CU has changed everything -- you either accept it and make best use of your situation or dwell on it, get depressed over "the state" of the game and quit. I initially chose the latter but then realized that for the most part this is still the game I love and I adapted.
Just my $.02 on the matter.
