Thread: Looking for reasons to stay in the game...please help.

I dont want to be flamed or yelled at for what i have to say. It not for a fight or anything just asking what is there.
It seems that since the CU the game has gone way down in fun and way up high in difficulty for just about everyone (unless u have an entire friends list of Jedi's or have several accounts to master every field that is popular or needed).
Since the CU, this is what I have noticed that has just gone down the porclen whirlpool:
1. THE LAG. My gosh I can't even play in space anymore since I cant target anything and flying around with bounce back is fun. You would think with all the people that talk and post about the lag, they would actually do something to atleast make it more playable on. I love walking into walls and items and jumping around. Really i do.
2. I thought the bounce back was gone patches ago, but yet, its back, but not as bad as before.
3. I have seen that some of the quest reward weapons won before the CU, were destroyed (meaning rarity) after the CU. The awsome sword i got after the Imp Theme Park was weak and worthless. So thanks for that SOE.
4. You cant fly around anywhere now. I understand the need to increase the spawn rate so there is enough for everyone to kill, but give me a break. Flying around Dantoonie or Dathmire the entore area of the radar will be 90% filled in with red dots. Im sorry, is there a special reason for this? I mean, even a group of 8 jedi wouldnt be able to live through that. It only makes it more of a pain in the ass for lower combat levels and crafters.
5. Is it me, or does most of the new quest involve space missions with teir 2+. Are they forcing us to use their dead expansion? I would like to be able to do quest again alone, or with atleast one other person. If you now need a larger group, you have to hope there are enough people on to help that are willing, that have that quest also or want to do it, or will help and not worry about getting a quest reward. I dont have time to sit and spam at starports for groups to help me.
6. Why is the limit for groups now only 8? There are lvl 109-500 NPC's and things to kill, ya need more then 8 just for the 500 i would think, since i heard a jedi talking about it.
7. Changing CL BUG and the MISSING LAIRS are getting old now. Its a waste of time for everyone to either drop the mission, or have the holder fly out 300m (which usually doesnt work). Only spending more time flying from mission term to term getting bugged missions. And picking a 80 mission and showing up to a 16 mission isnt fun.
8. My am now ticked at the whole BIO LINKED CRAP. Im sorry, this is there for WHAT reason? I bio linked my clone armor, and well, with the CCU (crappy combat upgrade) i can no longer wear it cuz i gave up ranger (takes the most sp's to learn which is unfair) to pick up pistols and well, cant wear it now. So now im stuck with worthless armor that i cant resell or wear. Thanks SOE. I hope i get repaid for the 2million I paid for a second set and linked. (lol right).
9. Why does 90% of the creature population HAVE TO ARGO YOU?????? I was riding with a few people to a mission and 2 times i got knocked out and attacked and incapped. The second time the driver didnt even notice and I had to clone, and since its not easy to always remember to insure items (which is lame) my clone armor took massive damage. Im very happy I gave up crafting so i dont have to get killed just checking farms or surveying.
10. Since the CU, it seems that crafting is just about a waste of time. I might be wrong but could it be because:
a) Now that some combat professions went down in power or some just messed up, people cant get out and fight as much to make credits. Also even in groups of 8 you get a BIG 9k for most missions.
b) Its much harder for crafters to get around now and find the resources they need without being attacked or killed, so they will charge more since it takes a lot more work to get.
11. I had to give up 2 of the only professions that I actually enjoyed to play. Chef and TK. All the work in grinding crafting xp (which i can say i did without a macro) and the credits in buying all the resources to craft. Yeah its great I was able to move the skills over. But to professions I dont care for.
12. Lag in reading your mail
13. Lag in the group and guild chat. Very hard for groups to communicate in battle and leaders to hold meetings for guilds.
14. Lag in traveling. Many times after i click travel to take my ship. I have to stand and wait between 3-10 min for the game to catch up and take me. One time I ran all the way to the bank in theed, took out money, and ran half way back before the game paused and loaded me to my location. SAD.
15. Since money is harder to earn again (last time it was the nurf of the groups with 30k pay), Its a little tuff to be able to afford:
a) Power Ups
b) New weapons from being used.
c) Houseing Fees
d) Vehicle Repair Fees and a many times new speeders.
e) Armor from being destroyed from being argoed over and over again trying to JUST drive from POINT A to POINT B.
f) Buying whatever foods to use now since doc buffs and GOOD entertainer buffs are gone.
g) Any odds n ends i see on bazaars. Im a loot hog and collect like crazy, limited now since they nurfed the crafting stations from holding items (again fixing something that wasnt broken).
16. Its also that they allowed the BARC Speeders to be repaired after they are disabled, yet AV-21's that require crafting and loot items from very hard locations and are very random dont. Just because they are from the box version doesnt make them THAT special.
17. New clothing, weapons, armor, vehicles and loot were added to the game, just about each profession had something changed. But yet no new home styles. All the cities look alike, most the homes of the same type look just about the same inside. Things are to uniform out there and we dont have the tool to be original anymore.
18. This isnt new, but I dont see what the point is. It doesnt take Skill Points to learn Politician or Pilot Professions, but it does for Jedi. I know you get an alt to make what you lost, but um, why not do this instead...
**Make jedi skills or force sensitive skills sp free so that we dont have to slowly loose our skills that help us fight or make money and lower our combat level. Then we wouldnt have to give up all the hard work we did at earning the xp in the first place, only to have to earn the HOLY BATMAN CRAP LOAD of xp needed to get jedi and beyond, only to have to turn around and grind the maybe same professions again.
19. Since so many hate the CU, they left the game, including several friends. So now coming onto the game, there is usually no one around. I dont have time to sit and talk to noobs when i want to get out and do silly quests that are overly hard for items.
20. LAG (yes, again)
Now, PLEASE give me reasons to stay in the game. I want to still play but im so lost now. Out of money, still not lvl 80 just kinda log on the game and drive around (if i dont get argoed and killed). Are there any guilds out there on the Ahazi server that are geared for doing missions and quests. If so send me an ingame mail IGN is BOOOMER.
Im open to hearing from anyone, just dont be mean about it, you dont really have a reason.

If you cant think of any reasons to keep playing the game yourself then you should quit. I'm not trying to flame or say 'get lost'. But serious, you gave a mile long laundry list of why you don't like the game. So why are you paying SOE $15 a month? We're not gonna give you answers for why you should like the game.

That has to be the worst response to this ever. This man is listing what has happened to him since the CU, not in a derogatory sense, but listing what he has done to try and adapt.
My suggestion... if business is your thing, go WS/AS. They are still the moneymakers, they require lots of components, start up your business again. Make a video, heck its what I did. Great program out there called fraps, records your ingame footage. Explore RotW a bit. I know it's broken, but really, what isn't? You could always give the noobs a role model if you like as well. Teach them the ropes, it will pay off later on ingame.

Eerif that was a very nice reply, unlike the rest. Thanks for seeing where i was coming from. The thing is, what i forgot to post was, I DONT WANT to leave the game. But yeah i tried as and ws with my alt during respect and with all the components needed, thats lots of hunting for resources, and its hard to travel around now lol. But the other ideas are not bad. Only thing is i been around most of the wookie world, halkted on quest cuz they require groups.

Only thing I'll comment on is the MISSING LAIRS bug.
IT ISN'T A BUG. A lair won't appear if your doing missions until the mission holder is in the area. Also, if your fed up with the bugged missions on Dant. Then go to Blizzard Dunes and hunt there. XP is just as good, if not better and NO bugged missions. Its great, your NEVER want to hunt on Dant ever again, trust me.

Superdarth and Stevie, thanks for the ideas. It seems some think that im just over the game and crying. But what im doing, is telling what issues i been having, and why im fed up, but want to stay, and need new ideas to do in the game. such as new places for missions, help noobs, change prof's around a little, and a few more. Great ideas and i will use some. Thanks agian guys.

Eerif my reply was right on the mark. First off this thread DOES NOT BELONG in the businees and econ forum. Secondly, he'd find a much more receptive audience to his anti-CU rant in the general game discussion forum. There are probably 10 topic just like this on the front page there.
If the OP is incapable of determining that this isn't the forum to cry about the CU, the game is probably over his head.

uhm..yah..well about the bio-link crap i think thats just faction armor,might be nice youre own personal uniform(still gota full marine set from be4 the CU),and REFIT is changhing the armor type so u can migitate it,but indeed that can only be done 1 time so you'l have to be careful with that.
and the CU isnt that bad,youl get used to it,as for the aggro'suse /maskscent and its only 90% on dangerous worlds like endor or dathomir.and crafting is not useless its very needed right now since where in a shortage of them.especially AS,try dropping by mos eisley every now and then aswell and show some fresh peeps the ropes,thats nice to do to and there very grateful and will prolly help you in the future!

about the LAG youre right..SOE will prolly fix that they often improve server stability so be paitient on that matter,now in order to enjoy the game id suggest to try n b tough as nails...now my char on chimeara,ibotivo ifee(friends call me ibo) is a smuggler/pistoleer/medic and hes real good in combat,that template has a awesome tactic vs melee!since you can root em in place,take a distance and drop some shots,then shoot em up,and HARD!by the time there loose u can take em down,cant?root em again and shoot again
that might be nice for combat at least agains animals,and u can make some drugs for ur own buffs!(and i heard u can negotiate with jawa's with underworld I)this might bring some joy to the game!hope it works!

Try SW. Many have said that its is their favorite pro now. It is different in some ways and same in others. It is my favorite. Takes some dedication and time but i think its worth the ride.

You forgot something i absolutely hate SOE for,
I like many others bought expansion Jump to Lightspeed. Now if i wouldnt have got it, i woulda got it for free with ROTW. WTMFACBF is wrong with you SOE.
It seems clear SOE is out to screw veterans over, and i really think im gonna leave soon. (dont tell me leave alrdy, i liked the CU at first, but now the bugs and junk is just overwhelming)
Another bug that is so fing annoying is the not being able to watch/listen to entertainers, i had so much BF everything about me was useless. After clicking listen/watch to various entertainers for 40 minutes straight i got fed up and just quit playing that night.
