Well, what's "not working"?
I've been using vendor search off and on for the past few weeks, and it's always worked for me. Just last night I used it to restock my supply of stims.
A few possibilities:
1) Are you using the "auction" (initial tab, only applies to items for sale on the bazaar) or the "vendor" tab at the top?
2) Are you switching the area to be searched from "region" to "planet" or "entire galaxy"? "Region" almost never works, since you can only vendor search from bazaar terminals in NPC cities, which have their "region" covering just their no-build zone, so there aren't any player vendors in that area.
3) Are you doing a text search? Are you spelling the item name right? Do you have the right category selected (you won't find any scythes if you highlight "weapons -> one handed). A better method might be to expand out the sales categories to the specific item you want. So Misc -> factory crates -> Instant Stimpack - D.
4) Finally, depending on what you're looking for, maybe there just aren't any of those items up for sale. This can definitely be the case if you're looking for something that's not craftable (quest reward weapons, rare looted paintings, etc). Or it might be something that has a very small market and no one's made any for sale. I had that issue a lot when I was trying to track down some of the less-used BE food tissues.

Oh sweet Jesus...there is hope.
1) I'd using 'Vendor Search' far right tab in the bazaar window
2) Entire Galaxy
3) Not using any names or item price restrictions.
Am basically searching for:
Any Weapon or Armor (no specifics)
Across the Galaxy
On the Vendor Search tab
and not oneitemis listed. I'm on Bria, maybe its a server bug?

Yep, sounds like a server bug. Or maybe massive lag. How long did you let it sit after picking "entire galaxy" and the category? What city were you in (maybe you'd get faster results in Keren vs. Theed)?
Or maybe something wiped the "global search" flag on all vendors across Bria. Does anyone else on Bria have this problem?
That's about all I can come up with, good luck (it sounds like you may need it).

It comes back pretty quick with 'no items found', so I don't think its even searching.
My friends on the server are having the same problem.
