yeah being a crafter pays well. My AS buisness (closing in on the 30 day mark) has blown up have grossed 40 million so far. Although all of it goes back in to resources so I don't keep a very large bank balance atm. Although getting started in AS did take me 2million credits (about 1.25million to get from novice to master).
The life a crafter is rough at times. Especially since I can not factory produce armor due to the coloring bug )=. So I have to hand craft everything.
I enjoy it though. There is something rewarding about a customer comming back to buy armor from you because you make it and they know they can trust you to correct any problems with it.
Interesting breakdown, mistys -- thanks for taking the time; this is fascinating stuff.
But (you knew a but would show upat some point, right?
) I'd like to know more about some of the unspoken assumptions that went into those results. If we're going to tell people "it's easy to get rich crafting!" we'd better give them all the facts.
With that in mind, here aresome questions that occurred to me....
1. You mentioned giving money back to your Player Association (guild). From this, I gather that you and your husband belong to a PA. (Clever, no?)
This leads me to wonder: How much does your PA contribute to your business?
a. Where do you get your resources? Do you primarily:
- mine your own resources,
- buy yourresources from other players, or
- accept resources given to you by PA members?
b. If you mine your own resources, do you use any lots donated by members of your PA? Or do you solely use the 20 lots ofthe two accounts (yours and your husband's) that you play on the server in question?
c. Do you use a PA hall for your shop? Or do you use some of your personal lots?
d. Do other PA members craft items for you and your husband to sell? Or do you both sell only what youpersonally make?
2. From your statement that "I make Furniture and Tools, he makes Clothing and Powerups", I guess that your primary professions are Master Artisan and Master Architect, and your husband's primary professions are Master Artisan and Master Tailor. Is this list complete -- do you make products for sale using anyother crafting skills?
I hope you won't interpret these questions as critical; that's not my intention. I'm just trying to make sureI understand what inputs are necessaryto produce the great outputs you're getting.
Thanks!

I should have mentioned this, but I had a falling out with my guild a while ago, and am not searching for another
For the most part, we purchase our resources. I dropped 5 harvesters statically, and they mine just whatever happens to spawn under them. It helps a little, but for the most part it's just 'extra' over and above what we purchase. Usually, I just end up using whatever they get as my default 'metal' for most of my furniture.
Currently, we're setup in a Medium Naboo House. We have it well decorated, and are actually quite happy with how it's setup and looks
We have 1 other person currently in our 'mall', selling vehicles. We're looking for more, but we'd rather get to know the person first, make sure they are good people who will keep well-stocked, rather than just recruiting anyone. It's very important to us that stock is kept, as that's really the only thing that makes us unique compaired to others. There's never a chance you'll come in and not find what you need in the fields we work in. I keep somewhere around 2500 items available, my husband around 3300.
Currently, my professions are Master Artisan, Master Architect, Master Merchant. I've dabbled into novice weaponsmith and novice droid engineer specifically so I can make sword cores (custom furniture kit) and droid storage modules (vehicle paint kits and custom furniture kit).
We've talked about it, and really the only reason we're so successful is because of our stock. You can come in, at any time, and fully decorate your house, or walk away with a complete wardrobe.
I hope this helps
Sure does -- thanks, and continued success to you!

I've been shipwright I say been.... I deleted the persona..... up to master I sold NOTHING advertising, personal approche merchand (was high enough in to) in 25 days not a single item have been sold and I was in the average price..... and lower... in fact if I had sold somthing I would have payed for the craft even after.... I had to do over 10 million credits by space junk selling and piloting..... don't want to say how long it is......
For SW. Never ever try to make your business succeed with chassies. They just don't sell real well. The ship parts is where the money is. I specialized in purely asteroid parts only and i sold quite a few for not advertising and having a shop out in the middle of the naboo swamps. Now, if i get off my lazy butt, i could probably make a lot more sales. And this is on TC-prime, right before the last mothballing for pub 18. So, my customer base is really really tiny. I sold a few chassies, but only when someone was asking for one, they are not worth the resources otherwise.
