Ok, how about a Noob's opinion on this? I am a major noob. I just got this game recently, and it crashes often, so it limits my playing time. I didn't get a BARC speeder with my tutorial (I got a x31 speeder instead, works fine.) and after about a week, I was in the starport after a mission (i'm a reb pilot) when someone yells, "BARC speeder! 30 million!" Now, while I think you should have to grind for money, this BARC buissiness will help kill inflation. You see, if a noob gets 1 million, he\she\it will spend it very shortly, as said earlier. I know from experience. Got 100 from a mission, gone in 5 min. but anyway, I read a while back that SWG has a drainlike economy. Once money is spent, instead of returning to circulation, it is deleted, and money is created when earned from missions, looted from NPCs, etc. If a Noob spends that million, it's gone, and the only way to get more credits in circulation is for someone to do a mission. BARCs are extremely overpriced, but in the long run, they will help with inflation. At least in my opinion.

Ok, I haven't trudged through all the posts. I'm just commenting on the original post.

So a noob gets rich quicker than you did....so what?

YOU got to play for 2 years, two long oftentimes glorious and occasionally brain-scarring, but you've been playing. You've seen and done things they will never be able to do. You probably have badges they can never get. You've made loads of friends, just as many enemies, and have something to rehash with your out of game bud's.

The only people buying BARC's are those who got the digital download and don't want to pay for the TTE, or speculators who believe that they may have some worth in the future. Seeing that BARC's can be "renewed" when disabled, I'm not seeing much of a future.

Right now, BARC's are new, and so the price will be high, because those with the credits will always win auctions and the percieved worth goes up through the roof. In time, BARC's won't be rare for long, those who want them will get them, and then noobs will have to figure out "what now" to earn a credit. 5 million doesn't last, not in this galaxy....

You have no real complaint. In no way does this affect your game play. AFK spammers will still exist, and the numbers don't really matter. One is annoying and a pain in the butt, one more won't matter. And the economy won't change one bit. Armor prices aren't going to go up because a BARC goes for 10 million, weapons won't change because a noob has credits. And for the life of me, I can't see any exploit in selling something you got as a reward for buying the TTE...

Get off your high horse, play your game, and leave everyone else to play theirs. It sounds to me you're just whinning for the sake of whinning.

I just bought The Total experience... and just started playing SWG....

I dont understand why so many people are angry about this issue... For the record I still have my BARC.... I really dont plan on selling it...

But one thing I know for everything sold there is a buyer... So isnt it the buyers fault too? This game seems soooo big to me that a few sold barcs here and there shouldnt really matter.

No one is is mad at the new players. We are mad at SOE for not making this item either craftable or non-tradable.

This is the point the original poster is trying to make and the one that most of the readers before us fail to understand.

If you play the game long enough you'll understand why.
