I would challenge the notion that the crafted item is worth more just because somebody had to make it.

Crafting takes probably less then 5 minutes per item for all but the most complex items. Resources can easily average around 0.5 credits per unit harvested. A player using lowest cost crafting strategies can probably sell just about anything at 1 credit per unit of resource and make enough profit to cover all expenses plus have a usable cash flow. Yet, to do so, they need less in-game time then somebody going out and doing a quest for a similar item. (Armor may be an exception as it takes longer to get hide.)

Quest items and the like create competition between the game and the crafter. If the crafters constantly prices things very high, the buyer is going to look for a cheaper method to get a similar item. On the other hand, if the prices for crafted items are low, then doing the quest may not be worth the buyers time save for personnel enjoyment.

I challenge ou to craft a T21 in 5 minutes... I can do it only cause I have spent 27 months geting to this point

Do you guys consider custom work to be the norm for deciding if crafted work is valued more than looted work? Inefficiencies in how you operate your business don't translate into more value due to more work you do.

you know what I put together a long post, but since I have no idea what point you are trying to make, I'll just say I charge fair prices, I have never had any compliants... If you think I am inefficient cause I have played WS for 27 months and it takes me 5 minutes to make a custom T21 so be it.

I am not targetting you Maigy. I have no idea what you price your product at and I really don't care. I was simply stating that crafters should be careful not to overestimate the value of their efforts to craft. If you craft inefficiently, you shouldn't automatically assume that crafted products are worth more than looted ones based the work factor.

Well I do think that some crafted weapons should be worth more than looted ones, and it has nothing to do with the time it takes to craft the item, I just think that there A) shouldn't be any looted weapons or B) they should be inferior to high end crafted ones. I do understand why looted items sell for more, and it is generally because they are better than non-crafted ones. The effort to make/obtain has almost no bearing on the market price, all the market cares aboutis the quality.

LOL so many people who cry about "inflation" have absolutely no idea what they are talking about; they seem stuck in this grade-school definition that isn't even correct in the first place.

Things cost money in SWG because there are people out there willing to buy them at those prices and have the money to spend.

If you don't have the money to spend, and you wish to have more money in game, WORK FOR IT like everyone else.

I swear, if people who constantly cry about the economy just went out there and worked 1/2 the time they spend whining about it everyone who plays SWG would be rich and we wouldn't have to hear about it.

But, just like real life, some people like to sit on their behinds and cry instead of doing something about their situation. Unlike real life, however, in SWG *anyone* can make money easily, if only they try. You don't need any advantage here, everyone started out as the same noob at the Starport and somehow we all made it...they can too.

The first million is the hardest. Once you get past 100 million, it's all gravy from there.

"Jet packs that cost 60mil"

oh wow....the sky is falling, the seas are boiling, it's the second coming! Dear lord whyyyyyyyy!!

Not 60 mil for an item that can only be crafted through extensive lucky loots and a nye on impossible trip through the DWB....with a Crafter. That's way too much for an 8 person team. That's just pure greed......

And you totally need this item to even get out of Mos Eisely. What BS have the devs unleashed on us!
