I meant to add this in to my first post but something I hit on my keyboard made it submit. Luckily I'd finished my thought and there wasn't any sentence that was left unfinished or anything.

It's sort of backwards to say that this system would be slower because we'd have to wait for hyperspace droids to arrive when, if that were true, we too would have to sit around in a starship waiting patiently for our travelling to be done. Han and Chewie had that HoloChess board on their vessel because it gave them something to do while in space.

In short, you can't say that this system falls flat for lack of technology when the whole team isn't playing on the same field.
