I use it all the time for stims, clothes, furniture etc. Most vendors tend to stock the 'uber' stuff, so finding lowly stim B's from grinding medics helps me out. Also same for lower end clothes, and reasonably priced furniture.

I enjoy it, it's like going to a pawn shop. Alot of crap, but sometimes a rare gem of a find!

Sometimes i browse it to find what interessant things i could find

Some other times, i sell some items i don't need anymore and that could make someone happy

As far as I see, the bazaar is used mainly for the lower level of sales by people without Merchant.

What really irritates me more than the bazaar is the Trade Forums. Yes, I use them. But they are basically another sellout of a profession that hasn't been developed by SOE fully in-game, so the Trade Forums are instituted to emulate the functionality that does not exist within SWG.

IMO, nothing in the economic part of this game should take place in the forums. I'm sure that's not a popular stance, but it does reflect the manner in which the game is approached. The Trade Forums give anyone the ability to instantly touch all other players and sell millions of credits of loot. Does that sound like a TKM/Fencer/Pistol Tech4 template in the game?

SOE basically gives all non-Artisan/Merchant players in the game free skill points by the very existence of the Trade Forums.

Also, lemme state that for anyone in the game to place auctions with a 6k limit and then use the space for email auctions is frustrating.

SWG needs to provide the tools to conduct better commerce within the system and not rely on bulletin board software to supplement a MMORPG.

Is this why you were picking on me on the Trade Forums? I understand and agree with your point of view.

HoweverI am an Artisan and I do have a poorly located vendor. I do sell a lot of my stuff at low prices in the bazar because I think other newbies appreciate it. I also tend to give weapons, vehicles and pups to any newbie that I see strugling around Bestine. Dont take my word for it, go find those who think of BloodWarrior as a nice chap.

When I use the Trade forums I use it to gauge what is this stuff I just picked and what is it for, plus Im open to offers for as long as they are decent. To me that offer of 20k per item you made was well good. I did realise that you were stealing on the schematics but I wouldnt use the dancing stuff or the featherweight so I didnt care.

What was shocking was to find out that those schematics apparently give boosts to skills as well. It seems every featherweight comes with a +5 Pistol speed and a +5 dodge. For 20k you you made one nice profit. And you saying that you were willing to help out newbies.

Regardless, I would really like that items could only be sold via a vendor and that would actually bring the Merchant profession some shine.

(My bad, please ignore the edit)

There are, it has been said, two types of people in the world. There are those who, when presented with a glass that is exactly half full, say: this glass is half full. And then there are those who say: this glass is half empty. The world belongs, however, to those who can look at the glass and say: What's up with this glass? Excuse me? Excuse me? This is my glass? I don't think so. My glass was full! And it was a bigger glass!

My answer: Yes I use it. I like to hunt for bargains like cheap small houses to resell or for rare loot in the misc. general items. I also dump my old low value junk there like a virtual garage sale or Goodwill.

Yes.

I use it as well to look for virtual bargains.

I also sell newbie items then use the sales emails to direct them to my vendors for further shopping.

I use them usually to get rid of junk that will or did not sell on my vendor.

The problems with the bizarre.

1. Nobody wants to travel to anchorhead to stock that bizarre. Plus nobody wants to travel to anchorhead to pick something up off the bizarre. Which means you must sell off of the Coronet bizarre. Maybe the bizarres need to be generic.

2. The cap is so low that it generates things like stack breaking. Where people are forced to break 20k stacks down into 2k lots. Then another player has to buy each lot and put them back together. The economy is inflated in the game raiseing the credit cap at 10000 would ease things without makeing vendors obsolete.

3. The non merchant fees on the bizarre should be made high. Say the bizarre takes ten percent of what you charge or a bare minimum of 20 credits. Might get people to stop dumping garbage on them.

I use the bizarre all the time. I sell loot and various resources on it. It is a big source of my income since I do not have any merchant skills. I try to sell descent high quality items for the max 6k. You can make 150k credits a week if you keep it stocked up to the max of 25 items.

Yes.

Buying:

Sometimes I need a small stack of some resource, and you almost never find stacks smaller than 5-10k on a player vendor. For example, last week I looted the Kitchen Utensils schematic, and it required 150 polymer. A quick browse of the bazaar with "Entire Galaxy" selected, and I found some that worked nicely.

I also use the bazaar to check for creature resource shifts, although this can be a bit tricky if people put up older stacks. swgcraft.com is nice, but updates can lag, especially for rarely used resources. If I see some good Rori Insect meat for sale that's not in swgcraft's database, I can head over to Restuss to see if it's a new spawn.

There's also the chance of finding some excellent bargains. A couple weeks ago, I found some Lubricating Oil that was perfect for 50 Fill Vercupti going for 6 cpu. Sadly, there was only 7k up for sale.

Selling:

Used wisely, the bazaar can be a handy additional advertising tool. Due to subcomponent usage andthrowing awayschematics that had some experimentation failure, my factory runs of food usually finish up with a 15-20 unit crate. I usually split that into a crate of 10, 15, or 20, and put the extras up as singles on the bazaar. I put my advertising copy and vendor waypoints into the description, and when it's bought send an email to the buyer with more information on my shop.

I just wish items awaiting pickup didn't count against the 25 sale limit. Since I do a lot of shopping with the "This Planet" or "Entire Galaxy", I don't always immediately pickup my purchases, which cramps my selling ability.

I use it. I sell the few goods I make on it, and search for items I'd like to get. Also, if I find something interesting that's on there as an advertisement, then I'll check the merchant's vendor out to see if they have anything good in stock. For me it just seems easier than using the planetary map and running from vendor to vendor. IMHO, the better merchants will likely have a more interesting/creative item on the bazaar to advertise their vendors. Whether my opinion is factually correct or not, well......it's still easier than running vendor to vendor just to find one specific item.

I'm honestly surprised how many of us do use the bazaar. I had assumed that the 6k cap would make the bazaar basically useless for most.

I'm curious though if this forum is unusual in this respect. Seems people hanging out in the business and economy forum might be more apt to use the bazaar (lot of us cited bargain hunting). I wonder what the response would look like in a more average population. I think I'll ask the same question in my main servers forum to see what the response is like there.

Beacuse most of my business resolves around "emergency" items like Stims or Powerups (I stock the things you always run out of mostly) the bazaar is a great tool since a lot of my items sell for under 6k in singles. I tend to use the bazaar exclusivly at Dant, MOP.

It's a good suppliment to my vendor sales and it's a nice form of advertising beacuse my vendors are just a shuttle away.
