Thread: Make shopping easier and stop the spammers, heres how:

I think that listing everything that all vendors have with the current set up of the bazaar would be an absolute mess where you would probably spend more time searching through all the junk listings than you would if you simply went out to find a vendor. Searching through all the travel tickets priced at 99999999999 would be more annoying than all the bogus auctions are right now
A way to eliminate these is to create vendor-notices that are tied to a particular filter, but cannot be purchased. Such as an ad that is programmed at creation to be used with the "Pistol" category. It will appear under "Weapons" and "Pistols", but not "Melee Weapons". Further, if selecting a broad category (ie "Weapons") then it appears when filtering all categories under that broad category (shows under "Pistol" filter, "Carbine" filter, "Melee Weapons" filter, etc).
And until the 6K cap on the bazaar is lifted (if ever, but that where this thread is headed), all auctions should end as soon as the maximum bid is reached. Now both of these ideas need to implimented together, so we do not rob merchants of a perfectly equitable method of silent advertising. To drop the auction without an alternate form of bazaar advertising is rather unfair, so Devs please impliment both of my ideas tomorrow.

Spammers: Who cares? Ever MMORPG where people congregate will always have spammers so just accept it as part of the genre instead of fighting it.
Galaxy Bazzaar: Long overdue
The bazaar already allows you to see everything in the galaxy that has been posted to bazaar.
Merchants being affected?? Who uses the planetary map list to locate merchants?I certainly don't. All it is is a long list of vendors that usually have crap for sale. Last time i tried itI went to a vendor that was called "Droids of all kinds" ... there were 2 droids for sale. Wasted trip.
I use the planetary map, and I knowmy customers use the planetary map. In fact, I have a friend who set up a resource vendorand initially called it "So-and-so's Quality Resources". She thought she would make a lot of credits by only charging 2 CPU for everything, no matter what. For two weeks she only had a single bite. I told herto change the name to "So-and-so'sTwo CPU Quality Resources", and in the next week she sold over 1.5M credits of resources. Proof that player do use the planetary map.
They say the bazzarr can't expanded because it would affect merchants. Huh? Then why do we have a trade forum? It's just a human created expanded bazaar that does the exact same thing.
Not every one reads the SWG forums. I believe I remember one SOE representative saying that only 20% of all players read the SWG forums.
Currenly the bazzaar is hurting merchants, because there is so much loot nowadays I'm just dumping schematics/paintingsleft and right on there, undercutting any merchants who try to sell them for 200+k
Maybe you're right, but I never did have much luck selling loot on a vendor. I can tell you that bazaar certainly isn't hurting my ship and droid vendors.

I think it's great. You're not eliminating their shop, you're just making it easier on the customer.
It's really annoying to go around to 7 or 8 different chef shops just to find a crate of ahrisa.
I don't know, I always thought this was part of the fun of it. Exploring the galaxy looking for such-and-such an item. I've experiencedso much "shopping around" looking for things I need, including player cities, some really interesting interior decorations, and met new players.
