Well it would probably ruin the scout profession. Scouts and rangers' profits come from harvesting hides etc. in the wild. If all the Master Scouts and Rangers efforts could be outdone by someone with just 4x4x scout(CH abilities) can plant fences and harvest several times the scout ability without moving a muscle, The profession would be ruined.

Though then you could actually be able to call someone a nerf hearder without feeling guilty afterwards
If this was to be implemented, the amount of harvestunits you can gather should decrease, but the quality should be better! It should be controlled by what the eat, if they get fed when they should, etc. If an animal doesnt get fed, the meat, bone and hide quality worsens. Same if the food quality is bad. You have to get clean water and proper food to get the to actually grow. Could be fun to feed a farm animal with some vasarian brandy Just for fun. hehe.

You could even have this profession selling the animals to CHs. A different way to BE the animals. Ofcourse it would be limited to a certain level. A Krayt shouldn't have the ability to be farmed. Picture a tiny humanoid trying to get a krayt dragon in the gate. Now that would be a sight to see Only up to... maybe level 30?
Good farming should be able to (in stats) pull the animals up 10 or maybe 20 levels.

Farming could have a great roleplay effect as well. Seeing ranches around the place gives you a nice RP feeling .

Everyone wants to just go out and grind some brawler or marksman XP. They almost have to because of the shortage of specialized professions. I am a carbineer, but still i can use a harvester. It helps me stay on top economically. When was the last time you ever saw a Bounty Hunter go home to emtpy the harvest hopper in the "real" universe. Make the harvesters a part of a profession! Rancher! Animal, resource and moisture farming on Tatooine!
