My favorite is:

Can't you lower your prices?? Your already rich. LOL

I agree with you, I worked hard to earn this fake money...wish everyone worked hard for theirs, its way too easy to make credits these days. Everyones rich.

The only hard work I ever do in this game is try to do ANYTHING with the nearly 7 crashes daily that I am getting.

By the way, chatting with the assistants isn't helping yet.

I do the Space Missions from Yavin IV after I stock up my Med vendor, I start the Debris Cultist mission, I get to the second wp, I crash, when I finally log back in successfully after about 20 minutes I am already destroyed and back at Yavin station asking for repairs (which cost less than the credit chip I already have, leaving the entire profit from looted parts to myself )

I only spend money on repairs and enhancements. If I want a decoration, I go out and fish. If I want an uber weapon, I'll wait until I get killed because I don't have it (same goes for armor.) If I need a good amount of resources, I buy my own harvesters and take novice Artisan for a short period of time.

A beginning player should have no trouble making money with Novice Artisan, by the way, because people are always putting up contracts for the current high-stat spawns. They could also sell stacks of 2K of a good resource for 6K creds on the bazaar.

A bunch of non-inventive whiners, if you ask me. I don't tell them that right off, though. I make suggestions, and if they tell me they don't wanna, then I speak my mind.

Have you posted one of these rants? Who does post these?

The only people I see posting these are players that would spend time crying about not being rich, in a fake world no doubt, ratherthen goingout, finding a way to, andearning their fake gold. (Yes, I did make a post askingthe question,"Is capitalism the right way to go is swg?" but I was just trying to provoke an interesting conversaion, with I most certainly did, as well as many 1-star ratings)

This game has SO many ways to make credits, non of them hard. New player? Harvest, gamble, roll dice in the cantina, (yes, I did this when I was new [at launch] and made fifty thousand every few days, hundreds of thousands in today's markets) are just a few. Looting, crafting, hell, even an advertiser or event promoter has a bankroll worthy of a nod.

"Well this is just a stupid rant, [it is] besides, why don't you see any 12pt. smiths saying this? Because they are loaded!"

Yeah, and I wonder why? Ok, I'm thinking here...maybe, just maybe, the billionaires of SWG made money by getting off the forums, rolling up their digital sleeves, and getting to work, not wishing they had millions.

Can't pay for an item? Don't buy it, chances are you don't need it.

No price caps,

No bank caps,

No free interest

No handouts.

No one gets anywhere by ranting on the forums. Why am I not practicing what I preach? I'm content with my (fake after all, remember kids, its a game) financial state, and don't care how much Mr. Weaponsmith has.

It's not just credits, I had this guy following me around spamming me to give him some faction points, when I pointed out to him he could do missions to get faction points, he said "He only had xxxx faction points that it would take too long".It's human nature to want something for nothing, it seems, but some people carry it to the extreme.

If you have JtL it's even easier to get by. They -give- you a newbie ship and you can just go out there and blow up T1 hostiles at will. A pretty good chance any one of them will drop a part you can sell, no questions asked, to the NPC at the starport for 1-4k a pop. That's pretty good stakes money there. Once you get more skills and a better ship you can rake in, at Master's level, 100kin a shortnight'sworkjust doing duty missions. No buffs, no hassles, no decaying gear, no food items, no 8 million credit armor and weaponry. Might not make you insanely wealthy very fast but you won't be worried about where the money's going to come from.

That's what amazes me about this game...it's not REAL. It's so funny how people think "Greedy" here is an insult. Being greedy is a TERRIBLE thing in real life. Heck, I'm of the opinion that greed is truly at the root of our society's problem. BUT...if you are flat broke in this game guess what DOESN'T happen!

1) You DON'T starve

2) You DON'T have rent to make

3) You DON'T freeze to death

4) You DON'T have kids to feed

So who cares?

Good point. Have you taken in consideration that for many new players it is their first shot at a mmorpg? It is my first. Now after 10 weeks I am "seeing the light" of what you are saying, BUT.........for those first weeks I was excited about moving up the ladder, but frustrated for not knowing how. Think about someone like me who knew nothing about these forums for help, someone who had not yethad the honor of being in a guild yet. Admit it:i can't speak for all mmorpg's because this is my first one, but this game lacks direction badly. That is where those people's frustrations come in. Once they get into a guild and learn how to make money they change their outlook just as i have. Of course you were a noob too, but it seems that you have forgotten the mind blowing task of taking this game and making it work for you. There are so many options, so many decisions. That is what makes the game great. I used to be one of those "whiners". I posted one of your so-called hand-me,gimme,want it all now posts. But what you are missing is that those people don't WANT IT

But what you are missing is that those people don't WANT IT ALL HANDED TO THEM. They are frustrated and that is all. You tell people that if you don't have the money to buy something, then don't buy it because you probably don't need it anyhow? Then why is it there? Yes there are beggers in the game, true, but have you ever asked them how old they are? I have found that of the 6 "beggars" i have encountered so far they were all under 18. Just kids. No I didn't hand them anything. No I didn't flame them either. Yes I tried to tell them to take missions. It just seems that alot of financially established players are quick to tell noobs how wrong their point of view is and just bash away at them. Let's just keep in mind the complexity of a mmorpg and try to help eachother out just like my guild. And what i mean by help is INFORMATION.

Unfortunately, what you say about our younger players is probably the case - many of them, because of their age, are impatient and baffled by the complexity of this game. My son is learning how to play, and I only let him play supervised (he's 11) and there is SO much he has yet to even consider. Case to point, how long did YOU run around getting whacked by sevorrts before you figured out what this buffing business was all about?

One thing you acquire as you age is the willingness to enjoy learning, not just to achieve knowledge as a goal(as is drilled into the school aged generation), but to enjoy the process. We all would rather not have to read through all the quests listed at alakazam.com, but the only way to get up to speed with the rest of the veteran players is by LEARNING.

My fondest memories of SWG are stumbling around Tatooine doing explorer missions, ignorant of the fact that they have the lowest payout for the effort you put in, and, not having a speederbike, walking halfway across Tatooine in pursuit of those missions. Then when I DID get a speeder (the newbie rental was a big help but with a limited lifespan, not something you wanted to waste) getting plugged by Tuskens when I blundered on their fort.

While you can fault this game for not having all information you need at your ready review, there's so much information in this game that it simply cannot be covered solelyin-game.

P.S. On the "honor" of being in a guild, hang around at a few major cities and you will nearly always find players offering incentives to join their cities and, by extension, their guild. So it's not such a challenge to find a guild if you want to join one, and to play devil's advocate, my alternates didn't have nearly the fun as beginning players due to the support of my original toon and guildmates.
