Thread: Experimentation Bug and Resources Bug To Be Fixed In the Next Few Publishes
We are aware of the issue and hope to have it fixed within the next few publishes
Within the next few publishes? That is not a response. That is SOE telling us to bend over and take it while they collect our money.
It was suggested by another person's PM to Tiggs, that they pay attention to the /bug list, so I highly suggest every single crafter out there make it a practice of /bug reporting both of these critical bugs EVERY SINGLE DAY until they are fixed. Send an email to any crafters you know or meet and get them to do the same thing. I doubt they will actually pay attention given their track record but if its the only way to let them know their game is broken, then maybe thats the only resort.
The final resort is to take your money elsewhere. I have given them 2 weeks to fix a problem that should have been hotfixed 2 days ago, so I think I am being pretty generous, but if they don't respond soon, I will be taking my money elsewhere in 2 weeks. I am still payed up for another month and a half though, so I can continue to post here and encourage others to quit the game if that happens ![]()
With no experimentation and thus no or little crafting going on, and the general quality of anything which is being crafted degrading as a result, how long until the economy just falls apart? How long until players give up because they can't buy weapons, armor, food, spices, you name it? How long until they too go packing off to some other game? The economy is a crucial part of this game, and if SOE doesn't get off their fat arses and fix these bugs the only logical conclusion is that they WANT TO BREAK THE ECONOMY. Is that the impression they want to give their customers?

Well I asked Tiggs if SOE had no concept of customer relations and why it was taking so long to fix the 2 biggest bugs every inflicted on crafters: the fact that Experimentation doesn't work and the fact that Resources are no reporting their correct size. Both of these bugs make crafting effectively impossible, and sales of resources pretty shakey if not impossible as well. Thus they affect the entire economy and therefore every single player in the game.
SOE's response?

Still doesn't do much for my confidence in SOEs ability to make a game that works though
Well, they got the fixes on TC faster than I thought they would. I just hope they won't make us wait until Publish 21 before they get patched in. Now all they have to do is fix factory colorization for armor and clothing, health bonuses for armor, BE bonuses for clothing....etc. etc.
Oh, and you notice they put in two more veteran rewards? Nice of them to do that after most people have taken their rewards. ![]()

Something to look forward to in the future?

What future? I've cancelled one of two accounts, effective in two week ... I can't be bothered to craft right now, there are more and more bugs (armorsmith, BTW).
I was referring to the vet rewards.
True enough, but if we're not HERE, we won't receive them ... and we don't seem to be getting much encouragement to stay as crafters.

Yes, but I'm not probably going to be the ones that will quit.
If you've ever done a programming class of any kind put up your hand. Do you understand what it is like to look at millions upon millions of lines of code and programming? It isn't a simple ctrl+F function to find the mistake. It can takes days to find the mistake. Especially if another piece of programming inadvertantly screwed up something completely unrelated. There appears to be a fix on TC already. Relax and give it a few more days. Crafters are the only people being screwed over by this.
If you can't craft, the combatants can't shop. If the combatants can't shop, they can't earn money. It will be hotfixed soon most likely and a more permanent solution will be patched out with the publishes most likely.
With the amount of money this game generates...
Lets shoot for 200k subscriptions @ $15 each - 200,000 * 15 = $3,000,000 a month. I suspect it a little more that 200k, btw...
3 million a month, and we cant get more people involved in the programming?
