Hey guys dont you think they should have texas holdem tables in teh hotels for people who want to play and gamble i think it would be a great idea.

Star Wars has other games, so no. Try figuring out Sabacc, if you can...

They should have PvP board games scattered throughout the galaxy with secure betting and enforced default rules (don't bet on chess online, too easy to cheat) But it would be nice to see game tables that could play chess checkers backgammon poker and the star wars games. And the great thing is all the pieces, cards, boards and game cases would have to be looted and put together like a lot kit.
But they would do a half a$$ job about it, leave one bug in it that makes it un-useable or leave out the one feature that would make it viable. Then they would completely break it next patch and no one would ever use it again and they would think well “no one use games, must not be worth working on things like that.”

They should only have Star Wars games like Sabaac and that modified chess game that R2 and Chewie were playing.

Or you could try to create your own game to play? Ya really wanna play poker, get an artisan to make you up a set of cards, adapt the rules a little bit to suit you, and play.

The admirable Tinkergirl actually developed a way to play Pazaak in-game -- check out her Pazaak - how to make and play thread.
If you're not sure what Pazaak is,you can read the rules for it at Rules for Pazaak.
Now, having said this... back at the Fan Fair before the most recent one (!) we were told that Pazaak was something like 70% coded, and was scheduled to go live along with the Jabba's Casino theme park.
ThentheJedi Revamp intervened. And then there was a little something called theCombat Upgrade. And soJabba's theme park sort of sank beneath the dusty sands of Tatooine --as far as we know, it's never even been rescheduled. So Pazaak has remained close, but no deathstick.
Sigh.
