I suspect the Devs might already have something like this idea in the works, but it never hurts to let them know that this is something badly wanted/needed by the community...

/sign, this is a great idea....I trade armor all the time and sending piece by piece...it takes forever!

-I support a Galactic Civil War fought between regular, average players... Simply strict, hardlined Imperials & freedom lovin' Rebels fighting for control of the galaxy. A Galactic Civil War fought not with glowsticks or lightsabers, but with blasters, lances, and how much guts you have. A Galactic Civil War which reflects the timeline, the destruction of the Death Star, the absolute control which the Empire has and the brave Rebels trying to break up that reign... The extinction of all but a few rare and special Jedi. That my friends, is the Galactic Civil War and that is what we have to aim for.

While I support this, I believe it should be a part of an overall upgrade to the Merchant and crafter interfaces.

I also believe in world peace, but all I got was whirled peas.

Good ideas

I'd love to see this, especially for moving from output to input hoppers on factories. Might take more coding for it to work with vendors, us merchants have long wanted an easier merchant vendor interface including a relist all button.

I am a merchant and a crafter and I think there are a lot more important problems with the game that need to be fixed before we need some ease of use.

Great Ideas...I am sure there are many more. As for me, multiple item select and relisting would take more than 1/2 the time drain out of keeping my vendors stocked. Oh, and wouldn't it be great if we could select the crate size limit when producing the schematic or starting the factory? For example power ups in crates of 25 or unprogrammed croid modules in crates of 5 or 10.

Hi there i'm sure many crafters here will have the same opinion:

0.1 REASON FOR THE POST

The issues below are hosted in this forum as it is not a feature that belongs to any specific profession. There is no forum for a change of this type and thus we are not represented by a 'correspondent' on these issues. My hope is that this post does get noticed by 'the powers that be' so the SWG community can activley help together to improve the game.

1. THE ISSUES

Ever hate having to move components manually one by one from a factory to a backpack back to a factory - taking account of server lag and accidentally double clicking and removing an item from a crate. Why should this take forever to do when its such a fruitless task - we have enough waiting in the time it takes for factories to produce items.

Ever hate having to stock items one by one on your vendors when it would be much easier to select a load of items and say sell each one at 14999 credits each? Why can't this happen?

2. THE RESOLUTION?

Allow easier moving of items by enabling any of the following:

a) Drag Box - Create a drag box facility to enable the user to click and drag a box over a number of items in his inventory, thus selecting all within - then allow people to 'drag' this grouped box into a factory or container (backpack etc.)

b) CTRL+Left Click - A common facility used by many programs these days is to hold down control and left click each item to select them all in a 'group'. These can then be 'dragged' into a factory or container.

c) SHIFT + Left Click - Select first item, shift+click on the last item and all in between are selected and allowed to be dragged.

d) Restock Failed - Probably a highlighted issue on the merchant's forum this but it can't hurt to have on this too - Add button to restock item's at the same price with the same descriptions. (More info in appendix).

3. THE PETITION?

The purpose of a petition is to show how many people would be passionate about this change. Let me list the potential benefits first:

a) Faster Stocking of Vendors - This will enable people to spend a little more time actually doing something other that mindless clicking - it may also inspire more people to activley trade in the game and not have empty vendors.

b) Manufacturing Process Better - Speaks for itself... what is the point of spending up to 7 hours moving components from factory to factory - its not fun - its a game - and should be fun.

c) Faster Inventory Management - Everyone hates having to organise their inventory - having the ability to move everything much faster will provide more enjoyment for people.

4. WHAT'S THE NEXT STAGE?

Everyone please add your comments and /sign this post - hopefully we will break through a needed change to the devs. I'm very impressed with the new stuff that has been added to the game, but I implore the devs to help make better a system that is causing much boredom to a lot of players.

Remember these are just my ideas - they might not be the best out there so YOUR comments are valuble to this - please add to the thread and i'll update the main post with your ideas!

Appendix X1. Spin-off Ideas

This little section is for ideas not necessarily in line with the original petition but great ideas none the less:

Relist Button for Expired Items

The ability to select multiple items in the stockroom and click a 'relist' button has been highlighted as a real requirement for lots of crafters that host large volume vendors - This is a must for professions like tailors and architect (furniture) vendors to name just a couple. While this may not be an 'easy' change for the devs to do - in the mean time an extention of the auction time could be increased by something like 30 days to reduce the number of times that people need to 'restock' all of these items which don't sell first time round. Items in some proffessions are produced enmass and thus will not always sell first time round everytime and will expire. While I understand the reason that expirys on auctions happen it is not encompassing the whole proffession portfolio and should do!

Increase of factory storage

Yes totally agree with this one. Huge annoyance for me this not being able to make a full run (1000 units) in one factory as many many schematics use 120 crates of components which wont fit into the 100 item limit factories.

Pros:

Less lots used on factories to create the same stuff.

Less hassle having to split and potentially wasting components & resource.

Cons:

People might start placing loads of factories as simple storage dumps - Possible solution: Only allow those materials in the inserted schematic to be placed in the input hopper of a factory.

Change the Powerups Schematics

All of these schematics are very random into what they actually produce. Some will be max damage, others reduced mind etc - for something that sells so cheaply and is almost outweighed by the cost the schematics should be changed to help get the desired result within a couple of crafts rather than 10's of crafts. How? My suggestion is 'split' the schematics and create new ones like 'Melee Powerup - Mind Reduce' and 'Melee Powerup - Max Damage'. This will enable crafters not to have to spend, what could be, a long time crafting the same item over and over again to get the correct 'type' of powerup and then potentially get a bad roll on the experimentation.

Thanks for reading.
