Out of curiosity has anyone on any server seen endorsements in-game? Maybe get the 10 best PVPers or whatnot and have them use your products and let other people know they use your products. I see often people promoting that such and such is good, but formal endorsement contracts I don't see.

Not that I know of. Although, that is a great advertisement scheme.

*Opening Scene, barren searing sands of Tatooine. The sun beats down relentlessy on weary travelers. The screen turns black. An unknown voice says in low monotone,*
"My name is Kazzace and I approve this message". Through the blackness a tall, muscular Kashyykian clad in full Hunting Armor and wielding a nasty hammer comes into view. The sands of Tatooine reappear in the backround. The Wookiee stands over a Giant Canyon Krayt Dragon and beats his chest then pulls a smooth pearl from his backpack and stares at it greedily. The corpse of the Krayt disappears and the roar of a newly-spawned Krayt can be heard. A massive Krayt Dragon Ancient bounds and knocks the surprised Wookiee to his feet. Kazzace watches his health bar drop at a constant rate and then reach 0. Slain.
The shocked furball opens his inventory and finds his top quality Hunting Chestplate has died. This was his favorite chestplate, accompanying him in many battles and victories. The Wookiee solemnly deletes the broken piece of equipment and sees the name of the creator before the chestplate disappears, "Slyder".
With a new found energy, Kazzace boards a shuttle bound for Beggars Canyon, Tatooine, Kettemoor Galaxy. Atop a hill lies a house with the title "SPS Armor" on the sign. The Kashyykian enters the old house and is greeted by the vendors. Several minutes have passed and the big guy bounds out with a smile from cheek to cheek across his face.
SPS Armor, by Slyder, 12 Point Armorsmith. Finest Armor in the Galaxy, Helping You Achieve Anything
The setting Tatooine sun silhouettes a large dragon being beaten into submission by a hairy Wookiee.

For a time period that was all too brief, I was in a PA that comprised a bunch of the server's best crafters, including the most skilled AS and WS, and elite chefs and docs as well. We were unlike many crafters in that we were also combat types, and spent most of our time testing our own wares to ensure that not only was it high quality, but also precisely made to work in the most efficient way possible. This is why we had low HAM, 4% stun composite before anyone else, why we used speedy carbines and flamethrowers, etc. As the armoursmith, I actively courted the high end PvP guilds, making sure that their most influential members knew of our stuff and recommended it to everyone they knew, their guilds especially. So that was endorsement of a sort.
But by far our best move was to have a squad leader with us when we PvPed, with his audible SL commands text-changed into ads. As in, as the squad leader instructed us to form up, instead of 'Fall in!' or something, everyone heard 'You've just been pwned by UT weapons! Buy your own at -7267, 4342, Naboo!' or 'Finding us too hard to damage! Upgrade your armour at the UT vendors!'
Granted, it was a trifle aggressive. But undeniably effective.

What an interesting idea with the SL. I'll have to suggest that to a guild I know. They're trying to replace a departed crafting guild and make a name for themselves on Kettemoor.

LOL I like this idea. Although I've never found formal contracts necessary I've been fortunate to get a modest amount of public support from satisfied customers

Isander... what's the story with that PA consolidation? First I've heard of it. If you can get that running and need a dedicated resource manager let me know.

that is actually a really cool idea, impressive...Id like to see it work...what would be nice was if a pvp'er upon deathblowing...have someone in the cloning center that gives them a tshirt that is named "i was just db'd by maxell" no advertising for the tailor but a nice idea for the fighter. I would accept my tshirt with pride....hang it up on the wall with the others i would undoubtedly earn.

It's not a consolidation. Guild I know is hoping to fill OZ's shoes in providing services.

Right now I am wearing 90% base, 28% stun chest and gloves, Base Kenetic Helmet by Estei, Boots by NSA, and BE clothing by Zri. My powerhammer is amazing and made by someone i have never ever heard of (I better look at it so i can get his logo on my swoop and armor). My food is done by stealthkilla, and O. PuPs and Swoops are done by Best-buy. I prefer to get buffs made by by S'atyr, but sometimes i get buffs by April (hard to tell the two appart since i get buffs in the starport). Dancer buffs by Brite, music buffs by Zoso'. Droids by Stink Monkey.
As soon as i get home, i am making a sponsorship macro:
/deathblow;
/loot;
/pointat;
Pwntby outfittingfrom Estei (vendor coords), NSA (vendor coords), SomeWS Guy (vendor coords), Stealthkilla (vendor coords), O. (vendor coords), Best-Buy (vendor coords), S'atyr (and sometimes April) (vendor coords), Brite and Zoso' (Coronet Hotel).
Lol, it is kinda funny how April introduced and advertized her new super buffs. She went to the starport and started advertising "buffing 2593 for 2 hours 45 mins." Before this, both S'atyr and April (the two major buff makers on kettemoor) had been making 2550's. All the other docs in the starport were messaging her "where did you get those" and she would e-mail them the coords to her vendor. Now that is brilliant advertising. Haha, to put it in context of this thread, she is self Sponsored.
