I would like to see the amount of skill points it takes to do merchant be reduced. For a crafter in order to get info out on my wares. It helps to be a master merchant but i have mastered to crafting professions. And had to drop some of my Merchant that I did master in order to do 2 master crafting professions. So now i am limited to how many vendors I can set out. I have some in our city mall and a tent outside the MO on Dant. And to fully advertising. my wares with a droid which I can't do anymore due to the fact I had to drop some of my Merchant. I have seen they did it for the entertainers how about doing some thing for those of us who spend the time to become Master Crafters, and the time it takes to make the wares.

It was your choice to take two crafting professions.
While I'm not flaming *nods to the popcorn eater* this game is supposed to have interdependancy aspects to it. If you really want the two crafting masters, find a business partner with Merchant and team up.
Couldn't hurt?

This is really more of an issue for the merchant profession forum.
This isn't a general business or economic topic.

I totally agree that if you intend to be a crafter you almost certainly need mostif not all of MErchant and that already limits you to what you can do! They need to figure out a way to make it slightly easier but then again if they did, then every tom, d*ck and harry would have a vendor...oh they already do!

What a coincidence lol. My names Harry and I "did" Master Merchant but I dropped all of it to pick up Master Marksman, CM, and Pistoleer. But the Novice Professions are ridiculouts. 15 SP is too much and I guess you could lower merchant skills a tad Mabye a few skill points per tree.

I have to ask what may be a dumb question here. Why are there no master merchants in game that actually have artisan suppliers? Merchant wasn't meant to be for every single crafter there is out there. I never understood why people don't make quality gear and then sell to a merchant for them to resell. Seems to me this would be one of the greatest ways to deal with the problem of people wanting to sell but not have to have merchant.

Why make things to be sold by others if you can sell the same stuff yourself? There's quite a bit of resentment towards resellers for some reason too.

No Kalheka - that's not a dumb question. It's a very good question, but unfortunately most people don't have the patience or the business skills or the trust to cooperate with a specialised Merchant player to recreate a supply/retail situation.
In a game where buffs are botted, loot is camped and groups are soloed, crafters want to make and sell all their goods at the very best level without anyone elses help.
Sad but true.

The Merchant/Crafter relationship is a complex one. Kind of like Politicians and Architects.
I personally enjoy working with other professions to achieve success, but I have had to seriously consider whether to drop some stuff to take on merchant when I was soloing. It's a trade-off (no pun intended).
One of the people I work with constantly is M. Merchant, M. Shipwright and M. Architect. If you talk about combat around her she just laughs. She is like a business hub.
Rangers sell hides to her, surveyors sell her resources, she manufactures some things, carries other peoples' stuff on her vendors and generally kicks butt about that sort of thing.
I am in a Guild which has M. Merchants I work with and I am glad to work with them because they create relationships with customers I simply can't get to.
I am a roleplayer and so the idea that I have to develop relationships with characters of other classes is only a benefit to me. Some people don't see it that way.
Advertising effectively is just a pain in the butt, plain and simple. One thing I have done is simply grab some of my component crafting stuff and parking myself at the starport, not barking or anything else. I have had more people simply walk up and ask me for something when I've been doing that than when I tried acting as my own barker. It doesn't always work, but I've spent two hours in the Cnet starport and had more work than I knew what to do with.
I'm a mugger in some ways. I grab people as I find them, ask the questions, get their opinions, or simply express my ignorance about what they do. I talked to an Image Designer for a half an hour learning what she did. So now I send business her way and vice versa. I also now know what kind of things I can send her way and that benefits us both.
I think I've rambled a bit here, sorry. We're talking business and business is about relationships with customers, competitors and other business people.
So when I gripe to myself about needing reinforced panels to make a merchant tent I change tack and look at all the stuff I need to get for projects and make it a go a'visitin' day. I hit several of my suppliers, friends etc. all at once, catch up on what's going on and usually get GREAT deals from them because I'm not just hitting them and running.
Don't get me wrong, I do that too when I'm up against a deadline, but I got into this for the roleplaying. Anyway, off the soapbox now. ;+)
