SAC and Min/Max Damage! DPS don't mean anything to me!

SAC, Max, Speed, DPS.

DPS is proven to be a inaccurate representation of a weapon's damagage capability.

DPS is a pain to calculate, but that's what it really comes down to. Of course how much action I gotta drop per attack is interesting, but not the main focus. Since they have DPS on there min/max damage and speed aren't really that important to me...

Why is it inaccurate? I'm not being sarcastic, just curious...

DPS is inaccurate because it assumes you hit with every attack, and it fails to take the speed cap into account; if your modified weapon speed brings the weapon below the speed cap, it doesn't notice and assumes you can attack at a rate faster than the game will allow.

Further, with the randomizer on damage not working, the *only* thing that matters in terms of damage is maximum damage. The DPS calculation assumes that the minimum damage matters. It doesn't.

DPS estimates are terribly misleading.

The importance of the different stats depend on what I will actually use the weapon for. Examples....

Trying to outdamage an AFK camper at the Aa'kuan Cave: Max Damage! (DPS, SAC, and Speed irrelevant - you only get one shot in)

Fighting critters around my level: Balance between SAC and DPS (or damage).

Fighting critters way above my level (Krayt Ancients Level 94) - Balance between SAC and Accuracy (each time you miss, you lose what you gained on 1 or 2 hits due to regen rate)

I'm primarily a crafter with some pistoleer. I don't have many specials to use and SAC hasn't been an issue for me in my limited fighting.

I am a WS. Immediately after CU I named my weapons:

*O* WepName BaseDPS xxxSAC xxx

But now I name them:

*O* WepName Dmg xxx-xxx (DPS xxx) SAC xxx

I find players asking me for custom crafts now primarily ask for low SAC. I make two or sometimes even three versions of a factory made weapon experimented on in different ways. Guess which ones sell off the vendor at an approximate rate of 2:1 compared with the other types..... that's right, the highest DPS ones.

It is an important stat, all weapon stats are important to some people.

Depends on the use, low sac for crown control, high damage sac for nukers, balanced for others.

DPS is really a bs term, dosnt matter if your gun is 800 dps if its 700 action cost.
