Thread: Why is tons of stuff NOT searchable on bazaar?

Is this a known issue? When doing a bazaar search (or global vendor search, doesn't matter), it definetly does not list all the items that exist. The easiest example if weapons. Checking under weapon categories, there are weapons I know to exist that aren't listed. I checked my other characters, and none of them showit. In fact, each server seems to have its own different incomplete list. Am I just going crazy or what?

maybe some of the weapons you know exist are ones you saw on the TC when we were testing the CU but arent in game atm not listed. I know some other things are not listed tho.

No he's right, some things just wont list on there. Like that new squad leader pistol that starts with a T. I had to search for flare pistol, that brought em up. But some things just dont show. That, and some things have parts of their names with less then 3 characters so you cant search for them.

No, it's not test center. My character on Bloodfin, for example, can search for LD-1 Rifle. On Kettemoor I cannot. Bloodfin actually seems to have most stuff, Kettemoor very little. Does anyone else see this? Check for yourselves... It bothers me because I can't search for thigns I want (for example, can't search for Trandoshan Hunting Lance on Kettemoor)

From my experience, if no one is selling something then it will not show up on the search. If no one ever put up a Trandoshan Hunting Lance for sale that catagory will not even appear in the list.
I have noticed this mostly with droids, I wanted to check out the prices of other DEs, crates of Bomb droids, I found crates of R4 Chasis, my R3 Bomb droids, and MSE Bomb Droids, but no other crates in between. Not even the catagory for them, hench no one ever tried to sell anything more than the R3, R4 Chasis and MSE droids crated.

Sometimes you cannot search for things because there aren't any listed on vendors that have vendor search enabled. Also, I don't think the search works for non-crafted items, because above the field, I believe it says "Crafted Items".

I had considered that it might be that simply no items were listed. E.G. There weren't any Trando Hunting Lances on vendors... I hadn't considered the fact that vendors must be speciflcally marked to be searchable on global search. I will see if it changes over time.
It is NOT, however, limited to crafted items, this much I know for sure. After all, that would disable the entire Generic Item category

Actually I have tested this. I have armor on my vendor for sale, I have my vendor listed as searchable... When I goto a starport and do a Galaxy wide search for armor, even the specific type I'm selling.... Nothing shows up...

Yes, I agree, because I just realized that, from the othe rpoint of view, there are plenty fo things I can search for Galaxy-wide and see that there are none available. Therefore this still needs to be answered!

on the vendor search i typed in "aurilian" under the generic item category. Nothing came up, but when I click on the listing for Aurilian items, there were items listed. Care to comment?

Ah... I misread. Yes, typing in "Aurillian" will get you nothing becuase the typing section is "Crafted Item Filter". Crafted only. However, simply clicking the tabs of various categories shows items of ALL sorts, crafting and not. And there are lots of items NOT on those lists, and therefore not findeable with the bazaar search.

Its not crafted items only, because I can search for Ore using the name filter, and before the vendor resource bug, I used to be able to search for Ore 100000.

And I also used to be able to search for specific resource names such as Creunim but now it no longer shows at all except for Fiberplast.
