I was wondering can you dodge and block range attacks with fencing and pikemen skills?

I've been out of the game for a long time, and I'm wondering if Dodge and Block still work when I'm using a two handed sword. I know this is probably old news, but I've searched around the forum a bunch and looked in the stickies but haven't had any luck.

nope, only counter-attack. Block doesn't work peroid.
