Get the first box with the starter knife, then go with a curved sword all the way to novice fencer, then either keep using a curved sword (one hand style) or a gaffi stick (depending on stats)
Get 80 resist comp or ubese. (comp has better condition so lasts longer, Buffs and brandy, it won't take long.
Mobs, my 2 favorites
Fastest xp quenkers (5k missions)
killing banthas and mobs around the krayt graveyard is a good way to grind and is entertaining.
Good luck

I agree with mapai, also try the squill cave on tatooine. I get around 500k xp per buff session.

I don't think the squill caves are a good choice to grind to novice fencer. Because I just finished grind swords there, and I switched over to my gaffi stick once and awhile and killed one with it, but it takes to long to kill them. Granted the xp is good, I just think that it would be eaiser to grind on quenkers.

jinda ritualist cave on endor, fairly low kin resists, dont aggro so you can pick as many as you want to fight- only problem is they dont respawn quickly but its generally an empty place so i like it. I was able to pick up entire boxes just running thru that cave /spinattacking.

I don't like the hurton lairs myself, cause half of them are those pups and tend to have alot of babies for me when i do them.
Dire Cats on correllia are great for the lower boxes also.

What is the waypoint of the Squill Caves? No one seems to post it, and no one knows ingame.

Go to like 0, 0 it's really close to that, you can't miss it. (want to say -100, 50 or something like that )

Ah, ok, I went there (thanks for the waypoint by the way) with my Novice Fencer, but the cave is packed with squills, and it takes a good 3 minutes to kill one squill...and I get about 3500 exp per. Granted, good experience, but the dire cats on Corellia give about 1000 per kill and they die in about 20 seconds. Only problem is, I can't find them often. Anyone know any good spawn spots for the dire cats, on Corellia?
