I just thought of this, but with the introduction of player cities it seems that the Combat Medics, Doctors, and Entertainers are now able to own buildings like med centers and cantinas. Why cant we as Brawlers own Arenas for Gladitorial Blood sports? We could fight each other or creatures or one guy could fight several people.
We could even add some type of battle fatigue healing to attract people to watch. To get people to fightwe could offer money from the city coffers and/or offer special perks to popular/victorious gladiators. There could be a referee and the only way to death blow is if the Mayor who is presiding gives the thumbs down. Then the Death Blow would be given. Of course the mayor could get political xp for the amount of ppl who attend too and the crowd could cheer on or they could say thumbs up or down and send thier vote to the referee who can administer the death blow, if that was the outcome.
If the combatants were to get xp, or faction or money I am sure it would work and the healing piece would be great too. Now I know entertainers will not stand for that but they can expand their role to allow them a new skills too. Allow dancers to gain dancing xp while in a group but instead of fighting they can dance and their dancing will distract the enemy lowering their defense or making them more vulnerable to various specail attacks or might even make the enemy dizzy. Muscians can play their music and gain xp by doing that and give them a new skill that allows them to regen mind pool while the group is engaged in combat. That might help get more entertainers out of the cantinas and into the field. Of course not all will go but that is now their option to go out and break the monotony of what they do now.
I really think this would add to cities, mayors, entertainers and of course US!!!
I do like the idea, I just think that among all the things that might be asked for at the moment, this one is asking a bit too much. I try not to say "no" to anything, because it's not really my job to say "no" but just to pass on information. However, there's a limit to how much information I can feasibly send before it's all just noise, and so I think I'd have to say that this one is just not something that can be a priority at the moment (unless a ton of people chime and say that this is indeed a big priority for them).
At the moment there's a lot being done with how the base combat system works and it's hard enough just keeping up with that at times.
