I have to ask this. I am TKM/master brawler/master medic blah blah but I have never fought a quenker intentionaly. Huurtons have always given me more xp at all the levels (q=3.5 h=4.5, q=4.5 h=5 etc.) and they are easy to kill, hardly ever hit you with the wierd states, and don't touch my mind at all (helpful when you are one of the cool species with negative mind modifiers and not the sell out human
). I can understand that the missions might be worth more, but I have never looked at the ground game as a money maker. I suppose it is a matter of choice. I was just wondering what other's views were since EVERYONE says to fight quenkers. I just don't see the logic in it for new players. In fact, I still kill them lol

It's probably that it's simple ... Huurton Huntresses might be good, but not the 3k Huurton missions or the Matrons, you tend to get some pups and they are worth virtually nothing. Besides, resists are low and they're easy kills.

When I was starting into the pikeman trees (and now the fencing trees), I based my missions off of 3 things.
1) Difficulty at current level. At novice pike (fencer), pretty much most things on Dant were (are) off limits. Pikets, voritors, and bols would squish me into goo in less than3 minutes. On the other hand, quenkers and huurtons (regular ones, not savage or huntresses) while hard were (are) not impossible to bring down. After getting a couple of tier 1 skills, I found it was getting faster to bring them down.
2) Risk vs Reward. While hunting pikets may yield high xp (close to 4k a kill), they were (are) a little difficult to bring down alone. Quenkers and huurtons, yeilding 1.8k to 3k, were (are) far more easier to bring down than a ticked off piket. Forget the money aspect of the missions, these hunts were (are) about learning the profession and how the profession worked.
3) Group vs Solo. Do I hunt alone or hunt with friends? Hunting alone yields maximum xp per kill, but the risk of getting killed is exteremly high. Even with comp armor, a novice elite brawler profession would have a difficult time staying alive (not including using DoT, sliced, or high powered Acklay weapons for this). Hunting in a group of two, three, or four yields less overall xp per kill but significtaly increases the odds of survival per mission. Most people may opt to solo missions, and there is nothing wrong with that.I would like to gain max xp per kill as I progress up the fencing trees by going solo, but this limits my missions to doing quenkers and huurtons.
I'm not suggesting that this is the way to do things, but an alternative method to attacking the worrts and rills outside Bestine and Mos Eisley. Quenkers are easy prey for novices, as are huurtons. I prefer to hunt these solo more than anyhting else since overall they fill my above mentioned criteria. After progressing up some the fencing trees a little more, I'm sure i'll move onto hunting pikets then giant baz nitches on Dathomir to finish up and master fencing.

Quenkers have a relatively high xp value, about 3k, they never land states or deathblow, and they go die relatively easily. Even Savage Quenkers, the spitters, don't deathblow.
Thus, it's safer to hunt quenkers and savage quenkers than most other things that are available at the same payout/xp level.

Even with the spin1 attack you cancover a quenker lairwith a fog of red green and blue as the quenkers HAM dwindles away...

what i dont understand is y u'd grind hurtons, y spend yur time on some creature that spawns babies half the time, same w/ quenkers. tell u what go to dath try 11k baznitch missions and you'll got at least 5k per baznitch and get no baby spawns, yur waisting so much grinding on hurtons or quenkers.

While giant baz nitches have an awesome low risk-high reward value, the rest of the planet isn't very friendly to novices (especiallyto those who are only going to take a single combat profession). Nothing like going to a mission waypoint and finding it staked out by NS or Ancient Bull Rancors. There isn't much a novice elite profession or novice marksman/brawler can do to them except finding a quick trip back to the nearest outpost. I'm sure there are plenty of people who will say "I solo them every day". Can you solo them with nothing but novice brawler using unarmed combat? More than likely the answer is no. I'm talking about someone coming into the game starting off as a novice brawler, not someone who has billion creds and decided to start out all over again as a novice brawler.
Quenkers and huurtons are easy kills/good xp grind critters with good payouts. Far better to deal with the occasional voritor than a pair of NS who can kill you without even breaking a sweat.

I've always found that quenkers are great for the 4th box and novice elite box since they never spawn pups or babies and have lower resists than huurton huntress/stalkers.
Utill you get your spin-attack 2 special they tend to give better xp/per time spent doing missions. Once you get that lovely 2nd spin-attack box though I've always went straight onto huurton huntress/stalker missions to finish the prof.

quenkers have alot less ham then hurtons and other creature that are equivalent. savage quenkers have about 7k ham and hurton huntress/howlers have around 9-11k ham.

I see it more as a kind of tradition type thing. As in someone went out, and lets say he did fencer, grinded a profession by killing quenkers, (but he could have done it faster with huurtons), so he goes out, and gets a question on how to level though fencer. He will prolly say he did it though quenkers. So its this huge spreading chain, with other professions trying to do it though quenkers, and it worked.
Thats my view about it, and you know, they dont db

I suppose it is more of a preference. I never left Tat till way late (brawler 4) so by the time I did start grinding on Dant, Quenkers were #^$#%$%#@. I HATE getting spitted at, and I also HATE that they drain my mind, which is my most closely guarded stat pool. I guess, at the begging levels I can understand, but at the upper levels of TK huurtons don't spit, have higher xp, are easier kills (risk vs reward) and every #@%$#@%# in Dant DBs.
