Brawler Archive
Thread: Hey Spaz
Hey Guys - have any of you checked out the 'In Development' page lately. Looks like the devs have been hard at work improving the game. (Yeah!) Unfortunately, Brawler didn't make the list of updated professions. (Boo!) Not all is lost though - If you check out the 'Combat' section you might notice a fewsurprises:
COMBAT
Combat
Changed berserk to be a 75 point damage increase instead of double base damage
Decreased berserk costs slightly
Fixed double berserk spam
fixed berserk sometimes stopping combat loop
Modified unarmed special move damage modifiers to improve their combat abilities
Increased unarmed damage progression slightly
Increased melee1h damage for special moves
fixed wildshot2 not working
fixed melee2hlunge2 not having an animation
fixed multitargetpistolshot not working
fixed suppressionfire 1/2 not changing posture properly
fixed acid rifle certification
added xp bonus for non-damaging moves
fixed fastblast combat spam
increased power of bountyhunter/commando moves
fix for xp exploit: Killing baby pets won't grant xp.
bring /con messages in line with new colors
fix fragmentation grenade blast self hit/miss
A fix went in for an exploit involving damage over time.
I am especially glad for the XP for non-damaging moves and am really looking forward totrying the changes to Unarmed damage and specials. Then there's that small change to berserk, which isn't so good.
What the heck isup with nerfing Berserk ???
It was one of the few good specials that Unarmed Brawlers had. It was the only thing letting us do comparable damage to the marksmen (even if we only have 1 / 455th the attackable area). Were the marksmen complaining that we hit them too hard when they were laying down with a rifle or something? Hopefully the other changes will MORE than make up for this.
I wish the devs would at leasttell us'why' these things are nerfed.
One last thing - Spaz -Would you please clarify your statement about brawlers being secondary to marksmen?I'm kinda thinking that it just came across wrong. I completely agree that marksmen should be better atadistance(and their attackable area is a heck of a lot bigger than ours), but there's no reason that we shouldn't be just as effective in close combat as they are in rangedcombat. To say otherwise just seems to defy the whole concept of game balance.
As usual, thanks for reading,
Akuna
Doh - the subject of this one was supposed to be 'Hey Guys', NOT 'Hey Spaz'.
Sorry about that,
Akuna
Hopefully Spaz will post on here and ask about the Berserk Chanes, and why why why???
By the way, did berserk changes effect berserk2? Because if so, then there is no point for me to continue on playing a Brawler. I hope your wrong about Brawlers being second to Marksmen - it would see unfair, unlawful, and just down right dumb as heck.
Why would you play a class that is inferrior to another class? Its like, would you date an ugly chick with the same personatlitys as a hot chick? Which would you date, the ugly chick or the hot chick?
I hope thats a complete misreading or typo that Brawlers are inferior to Marksmen. I would stop playing right now if that is true, and if a dev can say, thats exactly true.
From 3+ meters away, a marksman is better than a brawler. Anywhere closer than that, the brawler should OWN, since he could quickly disarm the marksman orknock his hand away. When I think master terra kasi (sp?) I imagine what the best martial artist could do to a sharpshooter, once he got close enough.
