I've mostly been running missions, I have unarmed 2 (started it yesterday) and pistol specialist. What mobs should I be fighting? Should I use VKs this early on? Is there a way to gain more xp using my pistol and then switching to melee? Thanks guys, sorry for the newb questions but lvling seems pretty long as a brawler.

If you're doing unarmed the get Vibro Knucklers. It'll double your damage output right off the bat. Just watch your HAM use when using special moves.

As far as what mobs to fight, I always tried to look for ones that conned white to me. They give decent experience and you can usually do 2 or 3 before you need to have some downtime. As you get better, you'll get more exp. I can take 2-3 yellows right now, but I'm also in the TKA tree. I barely managed to beat a red the other night, so be careful there.

Also, try to get in a group. You get more experience for being in a group. For example, I kill a greater shaupaut on naboo and it gives me about 650 exp of unarmed. While grouped, I get a little over 800 unarmed. That helps right there.

Some people will tell you to get a droid that doesn't do a **edit** thing but group with you and follow you. I consider that kind of an exploit, but hey, that's me.

Good luck finding them...and even *if* you do, good luck amassing a fortune trying to buy them. Why the ----- are they so expensive??? If knucklers are to brawlers like pistols are to marksmen, then why aren't pistol absurdly priced??

I am expert unarmed now, nearly master and I have never used knucklers...I have made it this far by tackling destroy missions solo. The group thing is a good idea, too...

If my wife is playing but doing something else, can I group with her and still get the bonus xp or do we have to be close?

I've had very little problem finding Vibro Knucklers. I've found half of the ones I've used on the Bazaar. The others I've bought from Weaponsmiths. I've had 6 sets, I believe in the 2 weeks I've been using them.

Don't expect them to be handed to you. Do some searching and ask some Weaponsmiths.

I want to say yes, you'd still get the bonus, but I'm always either grouped with people fighting along side me or going solo. Wish I could give you a definite answer. All I have to say is, try it. See what exp you get solo and grouped with her next to you in the game and then go your seperate ways while still grouped and see what exp you get.

Find some a sentry hermit spider lair and leap for joy (Naboo). It usually takes my brawler with VK 3 hits to kill one of them, they do very little damage to me, and they drop 187 XP for a normal one, and I think around 280 for a guard one. This was me wih expert unarmed, I havn't seen any since I got master. I can usually squeeze around 8-10k experience from one lair, and I would still be slaving away trying to reach master unarmed unless I found out how great these things are. And yes, VK are a life saver, look for ones with a speed of 3 or less (if your lucky) and a max damage of around 110 or above.

Funny you should say don't expect someone to hand the VK to you. Hehe that's exactly what happened to me. I saw a random guy, asked him about being a smuggler (that's what I'm going for), and then he game me a free VK. Just had to say it =)

My thoughts, I am going for master unarmed. I am also a Novice Weaponsmith. I wanna slice my own weapons. LOL. Anyway I used VK right off the bat.And a life saver they were. What I do recommend, Is save money and get a probot and dump some skill into artsian so you can make your own droid batteries. I found out this by accident but my buddy had one and so I picked one up for my artisian to have a body guard while he surveyed in bad parts of the galaxy. Long story short, I set up the three macro's. One to have the probot (henceforth refered to as stupid) join my group, One to follow and one for stupid to attack if I am going to die, bitten off mor ethan I can chew etc. I am now soloing level 9 diff destroy missions. But then again it may take awhile ). But I am a medic and scout as well. So I camp and heal myself.

If your on eclispe look me up I will get you a set of VK's for next to nothing. (How does 500 Cr sound) (I need some new armor) Usual damage so far is 11-72.
