Thread: What combo is best for PvE
I been playing around trying pistol/fencer, there are currently a few bugs in using range/melee combo for PvE.
- If your thinking of going ranger/range/melee you should know that the "Creature to Hit Bonus" that rangers get only works with range weapons, Note: I beleave this is a known issue and likely will be addressed.
- when attacking a humanoid NPC with a range weapon he will respond by attacking you with a range weapon. so there really no good time to switch to melee.
Right now I think it's Pistoleer/Smuggler or Pistoleer/BH.
That might chance somewhat if the knockdown timer effects PvE, but even then there's always warning shot.
depends on tactics... a carbineer pikeman is good if you plan to kite a little as the carmin shoots and moves well and has a lrage range it is accurate in. rifle is more a beat the tgt down then finish it weapon. by this you hit it with a mind dot then you laser rifle the thing fer 2500 points (if lucky you get 3 shots before it reacts and you get 3-5k in dmg from those shots alone and can have a creature down 6k or so before it comes at you) then you can switch to sword and tgt the mind pool and either double dot it or just swing fer the bleachers. as i said in a static pull rifle is better in a mobile one carbine in pvp rifle is superior as you can heal action but you cant heal mind...knockdown not withstanding (especially as nerf 12k to knockdown is on test right now) dont sel short fencer though... pistol/fast attack... with a double health bleed isnt shabby either and compliments the bh/smuggler specials (costly points though so..) as i said look at what you want BESIDES the melee skill and you will usually know what melee skill you want (unless your like me and go all out melee with nothing that doesnt directly help that skill set then you are really looking at play style and image for your choice)
A melee only pure brawler combo is:
1-handed Lunge, 1handed Dizzy, switch to 2-handed curve sword and whack away and do a sweep if they get up, reapply dizzy if needed.
I've solo'd nym brawlers and such (8-10K HAM) without buffs. Doesn't work on non-humanoid mobs though.
