I have skill in all 3 but have never done any that I can tell. I have however been Counterattacked and dodged by MOBs.

Same deal here.

I see plenty of +Counterattack+ and +Dodge+ coming off of mobs, but never me. I have no idea if it's working, or not. I'm about halfway up the TKA tree and things do actually seem to miss on occasion (not nearly as much as I miss them ) but I have no idea if it's because I'm dodging and such. Perhaps they can do the same thing the mobs do and have +whatever+ come off of us when Dodge and such works. Even if it does it at random...it'd make me feel better cause I'd think I'm dodging.

i dont know about the rest of you but sudenly i have been hearing lots about the riflemans block, people are not only saying that it works, but that it works almost too well.

anyone else hear this?

I have skill in all three but never see anything but dodge. Dodge doesnt come up with the +dodge+ that mobs get. You will sometimes see an animation adn other times you will just get a line of text under combat which says something like you dodge whoevers attack.. Basically the same as a missexcept says that you dodge. Not sure if this is the way its supposed to be but dodge is the only one I have ever seen do anything.

I've had a counterattack go off while being shot at by an npc, so I dont have much faith in that skill working as intended. All of the defensive avoidance skills just happends to rarely to make any impact in any fight whatsoever in my opinion.

I have never seen a block when I'musing a Rifle (so far). However, it has been a LOOOONG time sense I let a mob catch me holding a Rifle. One hit incap from a Durni is not fun. (x2.5 dmg mod)

Stealth (un)nerf?

I believe that blocking and dodging do happen, they just don't float over your head. Fight a weak npc while using a terrible weapon and watch a few fights. If they last long enough you will see some of the npc swings not hitting you because your character appears to physically block or parry them, and sometimes you duck down and to the side or jump backwards which I believe is the dodging. Mind you, this only works against humanoids for some reason, I have no recollection of this happening against animals. I recall I may have-Counter Attack- 'd once or twice but it is possible it was just the mob was very close and it was his -tag- i was seeing float overhead.

I've shot a pistol before and dodged a few shots. Never seen anything float over my head, but it does give a visual of me rolling. Also says it in the combat window. As for the rest, some professions get a + to their dodge,block, etc skills (I think). Don't think unarmed melees get any bonus. Don't remember seeing any listed in any branch.

As a pikeman(4,0,2,2) I have blocked a grand total of zero times. I keep a close on the combat window so I know this for a fact. On the uphand I have counterattacked twice even thoughI have no skills in it.

I'm pretty sure they just don't tell you when it happens. Keep an eye on the fighting rather than the words and you will see it.

I disagree. If it says nothing, then nothing happened. You make a blocking motion, etc, but it's just to make combat look good. You still take the hit.
