what tree in your skill set affects the mind pool? 1H or 2H sword? Also, what weapon should I pick up to start this profession with?

Since its useless for anyone to ask questions on here without waiting forever to get a decent repsponse i will answer you. 2 handed swords are the ones that have specials that hit for mind.

I'd like to apologize for people that can't offer funny or witty insults. If your not going to get help you ought to at least be entertained. BTW 2 handed is the correct answer.

The melee weapon that has mind specific attcks are the two-handed weapons. The two-handed weapon that is usable by a novice brawler is the heavy axe. The Rifle/Two-hand ought to make a good combination, as both weapons compensate for each other's lack of usefulness at certain ranges.
