One uses a polearm. The other doesn't. What's your point?

That's exactly it! What other differences are there? Which one's better for combat? Hmmmm??

"What other differences are there? Which one's better for combat?"

- I don't think either is better. They both stunyour opponent.

- The additional damage inflicted by the move is probably better with the Polearm one (as you are using a weapon to perform the skill, and unarmed doesn't have a certified weapon until Novice TK).

- As for HAM cost, probably one is better than the other. I can't tell you which though, as I've never used a Polearm and don't know the HAM costs associated with those skills.

- If you have a Polearm equiped use the Polearm skill, if you don't, use the Unarmed skill.

Context:

You're a Swordsman (or Fencer).

You have Master Brawler.

Which skill do you use to stun your opponent and why?

- Personally I go with the /unarmedstun1. You are using the special move to inflict the Stun effect, not perform any damage.

- With the Unarmed Stun, you will need to remove your weapon.

- Since weapons increase the amount of HAM drained during a special move, if you are only interested in the Stun effect, go with the lowest HAM use (namely the Unarmed).

I think Unarmed might be the way to go too, although I intend to try this out myself. The high HAM cost of polearms, especially the LVA kind of makes it a bad choice to stun with. Maybe a wooden staff would be decent, but at that point youmight be better off just going unarmed.

Another thing is with Unarmed you can just do Blind/Stun without switching weapons again.
