I want to make a Rifleman class and was thinking about throwing some scouting or medic in and something else. I also was thinking about getting high in one of the melee classes to counter if a melee jumps me with my rifle, as they have bad defence. Question is, is it worth it getting melee AND ranged? or would I better off choosing one and pursuing some different skills...If there is no point in going in both then i will probably go the way of Doctor or combat med Thanks

Yes. just quit. the game has nothing forward to look for. you cant do anything in the story line, and after about 10 chars that master some profession or another its just repetitive grinding either threw dancing, healing or fighting or making sucky items.

hmm...and perhaps I have fun doing that? hehe. And really....I have yet to see an mmorpg that differs much from the typical master this skill, try something else, grind forever scheme. Did not ask if I should quit or not.

Any other feedback from anyone? Let me simplify, basically, if I go ranged, would getting Melee as well help me out? or would it be a waste.

I just started a brawler and they are nice, in your situation, it would help, you don't need to go master, just specialize in something like unarmed. quicker changing out weapons that way. Because a rifle specialist really needs something for up close, you could also use the rifle and pistol, that way long and short range. I saw someone that was using all 3 weapon categories and whas using hotkeys to switch out weapons for the different ranges.

I'm a rifleman and I'm considering getting some melee skills as well. But which brawler tree attacks the mind-pool, if any?

Switching to a pistol isn't particularly effective because it attacks a different pool.

Thanks.

Two-handed weapons have attacks that target the mind pool.

One hand=Health

Two hand=Mind

Polearm=Action

ill throw in my two cents if you still care. i am a novice rifleman and novice tka and aside from all the usual tka gripes, i really like it and i think it helps my game a lot. rifleman gets a multiplier to damage taken when fighting a melee enemy, so for rifleman it only makes sense to pick a melee skill so you can switch to it when the enemy closes in...i would probably go 2hs if i had it to do over again tho, cause they hit the mindpool. plus as a added bonus you can master those two classes, have a kick ass fighter type character and still be able to master something else like medic, or through some sacrifices doctor/architect/ect.
